Apparently, We Are Not Allowed to Ask About Hair Loss?
I reached out on their Facebook Community for support because my hair is falling out and I just needed to feel I was not alone in this struggle. I have seen countless posts from women struggling with all kinds of physical issues, sounding desperate for advise (non medical) and success stories to give them hope. The Admins declined it because I violated their asking for medical advise policy. I would like to know where In my post below am I adking for medical advise?. At this point I suspect this is a conversation they want to avoid due to lack of success. I don't know, either way, I am very disappointed. If I wanted lack of support, I could of gone to my regular OBGYN So I would like to know where in my post below am I asking for medical advise. For the record, I reached out to my physician re this and she did adjust my meds. Here is the declined post: I am reaching out to see of anyone has had success in reversing hair loss. Mine got worse and we adjusted my hormones. I know these things take time but the the thought of brushing it, much less washing it very is difficult. Not to mention having to wear a wig in Arizona in the middle of the summer! How do you get through it, how long did it take to begin to see growth? Is it even possible. I'm just needing some hope here. Thanks

We are so sorry that you felt unsupported in Winona's Women's Group. This is truly not the experience that we want our Facebook followers to have. Our Social Media Team works very hard to keep the community safe by declining posts that do not meet the community standards. We understand the frustration that occurs when a post is declined, and we know it can seem personal or targeted, but we can assure you this is not the intention. Unfortunately (as you have already seen), the topic of hair loss directly falls under the "no-medical-advice rule," which in turn causes the post to be declined and the Social Media Team to firmly direct patients with any symptom-related questions or statements to their doctor. This prevents the OP (Original Poster) from having their statements be answered and validated through members of the group, who are generally not medical professionals, which can lead to a flood of incorrect or unsafe advice being shared with not only the OP, but all other viewers. Keep in mind that the Winona Women's Facebook group is not currently monitored by doctors, so for safety with concerns like these, we want to ensure that there aren't any underlying concerns that need immediate attention from a medical professional. We understand that you had already reached out to your doctor and had your medications adjusted accordingly, but the post still violated the community rules. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us -- we take our reviews and our Social Media communities very seriously and hope that you can understand the reason for the outcome.
