I subscribed to the Starter plan at $39/month to test the AI video feature for my business. When I went to render my first video - a test I did not want made public - I was informed that all AI-generated videos on the Starter plan are added to their public Community Showcase by default. To keep videos private, you must upgrade to the Pro plan at $99/month. This is nowhere on their pricing page. The plans are compared side by side with no mention of a public/private distinction. A customer has no way of knowing this limitation exists until they've already paid and are actively trying to use the product. For a business owner, this is a serious problem. Draft videos and works in progress should not be made public without informed consent. The fact that this restriction is buried and not disclosed upfront is, at best, a major oversight and, at worst, a deliberate tactic to force upgrades. Yes, I received a refund - but that's not the point. The pricing page should be transparent about what each plan actually includes. I would have considered upgrading to Pro eventually, but discovering a hidden limitation like this after paying killed any trust I had in the company. Potential customers deserve to know what they're signing up for before they hand over their money.

You raise a fair point about the pricing page - the public/private distinction between plans should be more visible there, and we're adding it. For anyone reading, we do want to share the full picture. There is a visible toggle at the animation step showing whether a video will be public or private - this is accessible on the free plan, before signing up for a plan or paying for anything. This is also disclosed in our Terms of Service. And users on the Pro plan have full privacy controls to opt out of the Community Showcase entirely. The community showcase is a core part of what makes Breakout Clips special - it's how our users discover what's possible, find inspiration, and remix each other's videos into something new. It's one of the most loved features on the platform. Public-by-default on lower tiers is standard across AI creative platforms - Midjourney, for example, has several pricing tiers and makes all content public on every plan below their $60/month Pro tier. When Mike reached out to our support team about this, his full refund was processed within 6 minutes. He hadn't rendered any videos yet, and therefore no content was visible in the community showcase page. They say try it for free, but that just to get you to sign up. no free trial available. false advertising I call it. if they start off by lying, I can only imagine what there service will be all about.
