I’m writing this to warn others about my experience with Breakout Clips. I signed up and cancelled within a few hours because the program kept locking up and the videos it produced were completely unusable. Even though nothing worked properly, the system still deducted credits for those failed attempts. When I reached out to support, they insisted the renders “worked” because their server logs showed something completed. That doesn’t match what actually happened on my screen, and the outputs were deleted immediately because they weren’t usable for anything. What frustrated me even more was their demand for a screen recording before they would consider a full refund. I don’t have time to troubleshoot a program that failed right from the start, and I shouldn’t have to prove a malfunction when the product didn’t work as advertised. They eventually issued a partial refund and called it a “goodwill gesture,” even though the service never functioned properly and I cancelled within hours.

Hi David, Thanks for the feedback. We'd like to give readers the full picture, and we're happy to share the entire support exchange with anyone who wants to assess it themselves. You can read every message between David and our support team here: https://cln.sh/RKPXJv9W We believe we handled this case fairly and refunded you 86% of your payment in accordance with the credits you used. Here's what happened. You purchased, created your videos, and asked for a full refund. Our terms don't cover refunds once videos have been rendered, but we made an exception. We replied the next morning and offered you a pro-rated refund with no conditions attached, along with a full refund if you could send us a quick screen recording of the lock-ups you described. So "they eventually issued a partial refund" isn't accurate - both were offered in our very first reply. Here is proof of that: https://cln.sh/jD1WPWnG On the credits: credits are only ever deducted when a render completes. We have a record of every render on your account, and every one of them completed successfully. We also watched the finished videos before replying to you. They came out as expected, with no faults or errors. That's why we asked what specifically went wrong. We never demanded or insisted on a screen recording. It was a request, made because no other users have reported any lock-up behaviour and we could not reproduce anything on our end. A short explanation or recording would have been enough for us to look into it, and if the issue was as immediate and repeatable as described, it would have taken a minute to capture. The recording was never a hurdle to getting your money back. The pro-rated refund was already on the table unconditionally, and we repeated both offers across our replies: First reply where we offered it: https://cln.sh/jD1WPWnG Second reply where we offered it: https://cln.sh/hpvY60MW Third reply where we processed it, after you told us you wouldn't be sharing any evidence of the issue: https://cln.sh/0tTdygZ6 Amount paid: $99.00 Credits included: 300 Credits used: 40 (13.33%) Credits remaining: 260 (86.67%) Refund issued: $85.80 Worth noting for anyone reading: every account starts on a free plan with full access to the platform. Paying only unlocks the render button, so you can explore and judge the tool before deciding to purchase. We support over 500,000 users creating attention-grabbing videos, and you can browse thousands of real user videos transparently in our Community Showcase: https://app.breakoutclips.com/showcase/ David, the door's still open. If you ever want to show us what you saw, we'll dig into it. - The Breakout Clips Team PS - here's every message sent between David and our support team, for transparency, one more time: https://cln.sh/RKPXJv9W
