I am completely fed up with wasting hours of my morning fighting Blue Shield of California over denied claims. I pay expensive premiums every month for a PPO plan, yet a bureaucrat with zero medical training gets to override my doctor's recommendations. It is unacceptable that desk clerks without proper education or expertise have the authority to challenge a licensed MD.

On phone time and time again repeating the same thing over and over again. Will leave this Company during Active enrollment. The worst company ever. Get on phone with a problem and you just repeat repeat repeat. Over and over again . Like they don’t have your Information on the computer screen. Seriously what’s the point keeping people on phone and repeating same thing over and over. These people are history to me. I would Never recommend this health insurance to no one. Better to not have insurance and go into hospital as a homeless person. You will get Better service !!!

OUTSTANDING! Blue Shield Customer support. I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of speaking with Justine S! I feel like I need to withhold her last name because I don't know if this could get her into trouble. She assisted me today, spent two and a half hours on the phone with me today because I had 2 medical insurance policies at the same time. We filed the retro-termination, and this was a process that I just didn't know, nor was I informed by my broker/agent of his mistake. Her knowledge and experience helped me file the claim to get monies returned that rightfully should have never left our bank account due to broker/agent miscommunication. Justine is, hands down, the person you should request. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Blue Shield of California uses a company by the name of Evolent to deny care to its members. Sadly, patients were forced of their Anthem plan to Blue Shield of California which gives death care, not health care, through its third party health denier Evolent! Evolent denies standard treatment.

Zero ownership. Every interaction is a complete breakdown. I explain the issue clearly within seconds, and they still waste an hour circling the same basic information. Support is clueless, disorganized, and painfully slow. There’s no urgency, no accountability, and no sense that anyone knows what they’re doing. Even the simplest data pulls take forever. This isn’t just bad service—it’s operational failure. Easily one of the most incompetent companies I’ve ever dealt with. I am glad I switched to Kaiser
