Horrible customer service and communication regarding how to work with the plan. If you don't read every email they send you within 24-48 hours you will be charged and you will have no choices. I only signed up on Monday - received my account information on Tuesday - and by Thursday I was being shipped a $140 (discounted) box of food with NO INPUT based on what I like and will eat. Sent emails, left phone messages and called directly - no answers were concise and consistent. At $170-$210 per week - this kind of "service" is too expensive for the average person. There are other programs that win out.

I will start this by saying I like simple, healthy food. A sandwich. Fresh salmon with pepper. Lightly seasoned chicken and carrots. The quality isn't necessarily bad, but I end up having the same meals two to three times a week because everything is rather 'hoity-toity' and generally not to my taste. I feel like I need to stick my pinky out every time I open a box of this stuff - and that's not a compliment. I don't want everything smothered in mock 5-star sauces, 'olive tepenade', or drowning in fancy pomodoro salsa. (For us uncultured swine out here living on Earth, that's common tomato sauce - thanks, google.) And for $200/wk, I would have an expectation there's more 'normal' food on the menu. It's advertised as 150 dishes, though I have yet to see anywhere near that number of available to me. Even when asking an agent, I was told directly "that's all there is". But realistically, not many of those dishes are going to be enjoyable or even palatable to the common, everyday tongue. These are not the sort of social-standard meals that most families cook day-to-day, unless there's a chef or a massive food-enthusiast in the kitchen. The dishes cannot/will not be altered and your only recourse is to 'remove them' from your preferences. If you're looking for comfort foods or foods your familiar with - bluntly put, this is not the meal service for you. Every single salmon or chicken available on the menu is covered in some manner of 'mustard sauce' or 'bell pepper coulis' which ends up being scraped off into the garbage. Out of 150 supposed items, you will not once see a protein that isn't covered in a strange or just generally unappealing ingredient and think - "I would absolutely order this, but it's covered in ____ and that sounds kind of gross." BistroMD has potential to reach many more customers that are willing to explore a healthier diet. The 6 or so items off their 150 menu that I can eat are decent quality (with a few minor exceptions where I've pulled strips of gristle out of my beef), but they really need to tone it down with that pinky-wiggle culinary marketing. It's cool that you want to bring some culture to the table and I am in full support of that - but guys - you really need more options to support customers that can't stomach these flavor profiles. Sometimes all people want is a nice piece of properly grilled chicken with rice. Meals do not need to be over-complicated and written like they're being pulled from a back-alley Parisian cafe. Simple is effective. Simple is delicious. Please take this as helpful constructive criticism. All in all, I've lost 6lbs, which is great - but already looking at other meal services that are less expensive and offer a more appropriate menu for my tastes.

I actually found the food to be really good. There were only a few items that I didn't like, and the option exists to exclude those items from showing up in your weekly menus. Where I ran into problems is with cost. Bistro MD is MEGA EXPENSIVE! It's worth it if you can afford to shell out $1000 to $1200 per month. I just can't. Any discounts you receive is for the first week ONLY. Other than that, my only complaint regards customer service. There simply isn't any. I had a couple simple questions, but there's no one to answer them. Even the chat feature on the website permanently shows as "unavailable". That still wasn't the deal breaker for me, but if having someone available for customer service is really important to you, you'll be disappointed. I do highly recommend BistroMD to those for which cost is not a factor and for which customer service is not all that important.

I got charged 340 dollars in one day!! I did this meal plan just to try it out; the next day I realized 340 had been taken out of my account. Ouch!!

Customer service is horrible. I put in my meals and they they sent the wrong order, I ended up getting food that I didn't want or order. They wouldn't work with me at all to reship the meals that I ordered. They offered me a 25% refund for the inconvenience... This is the second time I've had issues with the customer service. When you pay $200 for a meal service, you'd think they'd work with you when they screw upon there side.

Everything said on the website is true. The food is excellent! It is also very satisfying, my cravings vanished after 2 days. It is very easy to change your menu, change your plan or skip a week. You can also get help by phone for any reason and can schedule a phone conversation with a great nutritionist. This is truly the best food program out there. Don't hesitate. It doesn't feel like a diet at all!
