12 Months Wasn't Enough? Now I'm Stuck Paying for Another 12
I gave Birdeye a full 12 months to prove its value, and the experience has been incredibly disappointing. After deciding the product wasn't a good fit for my business, I discovered that I had missed a 90-day cancellation window, meaning my contract automatically renewed for another 12 months. Now, despite no longer using or even attempting to offer the product to my clients, I'm apparently on the hook for another $778/mo through July 2027. That's What makes this even more frustrating is the lack of support I received throughout my original contract. My account representative repeatedly missed scheduled meetings, and the support I did receive was lackluster at best. Once onboarding was complete, I felt like nothing more than meat on a hook — another paying customer they no longer needed to invest time in. I'm a small agency owner. I understand contracts and commitments, but there's a difference between retaining customers because they see value in your product and retaining them because they missed a cancellation deadline buried 90 days before renewal. I simply cannot afford another year of a product that I'm no longer using, particularly after such a disappointing experience with the service and support. The most frustrating part is that Birdeye had an entire year to earn my continued business. Instead, I'm left feeling like the contract matters more to them than the customer. I would strongly encourage any small business or agency considering Birdeye to read the cancellation and auto-renewal terms very carefully. My experience has left me feeling trapped rather than valued as a customer.
