I never leave horrible reviews, but the service from birchbox is absolutely horrible!!!!!! I have been trying to purchase a few thing from Birchbox for about a week, but their website charges me double for each item I add to the basket. I have tried to get in touch with Birchbox for days to try and get this fixed with absolutely no response from Birchbox, I have sent multiple service request and have tried to use chat and set up a phone call appointment it's been four days and not one reply. The fact that their website tried to over charge by double is already unacceptable, but the complete lack of service and help to fix this is ridiculous!

I've tried to order from them 3 times and actually got the product once (the first order). I use a price-y shampoo and they popped up in my search results with a good price so I ordered. My second attempted order was on a weekend - I was interested in the one day special. Put it in my cart with the qualifying purchases and couldn't check out. Got a vague error message - something was wrong in the cart - but nothing specific enough to help me figure it out. Contacted Customer Service and got the auto-reply that they'd respond within 24 hours. Not helpful for a 1 day special. It turned out the special item was out of stock - I had tried to purchase it within 90 minutes of receiving the email about it. My third attempted order was last week - the shampoo again. Some items were still in my cart from the previous, incomplete order so I bought those in addition to the shampoo. It turned out the shampoo was out of stock so they canceled that part of my order - without informing me ... a glitch they said - and sent the rest. I would have canceled the rest of the order had I known the shampoo was not coming. So now we've gone around & around for a few days to get this resolved. I've received a lot of apologetic rah rah / thanks for being you cheerleader emails, but no shampoo. My account was credited for the item after I brought it to their attention, not when they canceled that portion of the order, and the person who did that wrote "to save me from the trouble." Too late, in my opinion, since I had to write to them a few times before they bothered to credit me. I've now been given a store credit and some extra points in their rewards program. Does no one see that offering inducements to shop further with a retailer is self-serving? It certainly doesn't make me think they've fixed the errors in their shopping cart system. I've been emailed a shipping label to return the other items, both opened & used, so I'll give them credit for that. But still, two out of three orders have been failures.

Birchbox offers me the experience to use products that are new to me.

My friend bought me a three month subscription to Birchbox to give it a try. It was a BD gift. When you first sign in to the Website, there are questions to answer : your age, hair & eye color, skin type and color (fair, olive, etc.), and they types of products you would most like to try. (skin moisturizers & serums, make-up samples, hair products, etc.) Well, don't bother filling it out. I asked for facial treatments (moisturizers, serums, masks. I got Dry Hair cleaner, hair gloss, hair conditioner, a lipstick that's hideous (non of my friends even want it) an eyeliner w/ a tip like a "extra large" Sharpie, (made me look like a ho!) In my March box I got a duo eyeshadow (when I opened it it all crumbled to the floor, as the product inside the small metal container was completely broken up. This company profits on selling you samples of things you don't need or want in hopes you will buy other items that you do want. They probably get a kick-back from the companies for advertising and of course your $10 bucks a month. This is garbage. Save your money, as this is simply a waste of it.

I have a subscription and I have one for my daughter. This BOX has always arrived in a timely manner with the best of treasures inside!!

I received the men's box from my wife as a present for x-mas. She signed me up for 3 months total and so far after the second box, I am pretty impressed. You get some pretty decent sized samples and sometimes a full sized sample in the box. The products are good, I have have used about 7 out of the 10 total products I have received. I do recommend this for a gift.

Always new and exciting products to try. I look forward to my monthly box.

There are consistently shipping problems with Birchbox, though the customer service is great and they are always quick to offer a solution, but it is still incredibly frustrating. It is a little frustrating that you can't customize your monthly boxes more-i even have the testing thing and have requested that i don't receive a lot of hair products but I still continue to get 1-3 hair products in my box a month. I also think that some of the samples are not up to par (things like sachet and perfume samples aren't really worth it, maybe include at least six samples in the box if those are included. Also what happened to the full sizes we would occasionally get?) It would be nice to receive samples of stuff that are in our wish lists. Special Birthday gifts would be nice as well. Honestly I am getting a little bored of the service and don't know if I will renew my Yearly subscription - which is a shame because I see all these great brands and products that BB carries and yet I just seem to be getting things I don't want. Apart from free shipping for VIBs that aren't really any other perks that are worthwhile. Maybe VIBs could occasionally pick any sample they want? Sample choices so far haven't been exciting and even for VIBs it can be hard to get a hold of them. I wish you could combine offers as well. I feel like so much money goes into box design and videos and marketing when it could be going towards samples/full sizes/the customers. Like I said, I am just getting a little bored with the service; the novelty has kind worn off and there are constantly problems with monthly boxes and orders that I make. BB needs to spice it up. Also BB France has some AMAZING products, can you please carry some more french brands/do a trade with BB France? Like we can get a box BB France or England Box? That would be great! Spice it up BB!
