Biome Secret is too thick and grainy for me. The product is a bit difficult to mix and has to be consumed quickly as it continues to thicken upon sitting. Also beware of the subscription nature of the product. When ordering read the screen very carefully to be fully aware of automatic reorders and return process.

The shakes were as advertised but too grainy in texture for my taste even after lots of mixing. Be aware that the discounted purchase defaults to a subscription. The order confirmation only says in very small text ‘Deliver every 2 weeks,’ which I personally didn’t recognize as recurring billing. Customer service did refund and cancel when contacted.

Hi Casey, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad the shakes met expectations overall, and we understand the texture wasn’t quite the right fit for you, this is based on feedback from other customers and we will take your suggestions into consideration. Our team has already canceled your subscription and we’ve also followed up with you by email regarding an additional resolution, and we’d really appreciate the chance to connect with you there. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback — we look forward to hearing from you.

I don’t like the shakes at all. They have a funny off taste to them.

The taste of the product is mediocre… which makes it difficult to consume the entire shake. The shake becomes thick very quickly… realizing that we are to drink it quickly, but making it unappealing.

Update: The company reached out to me about my 1-star review. They offered a 50% refund on the product and a 100% credit towards future products if I adjusted my review. While I appreciate the follow up I am not impressed that I had to write a 1-star review to get a response, even after emails to them originally looking for assistance. I accepted the 50% refund. I appreciate that effort to correct a product that does not work and will give them a 2-star review for the attempt. Original review: Not impressed with the products. And they do not work as claimed on the website. Plus, the shakes are full of seed oils - that I’ve now discovered…so Non-Healthy. Also, don’t order the Vanilla Carmel shake as it is too thick to drink. Even when adding extra water. Expressed a concern to the company and they were not helpful. Chocolate shake mixes like a shake. And to do a return you have to send the product to Germany - even though the product was shipped to me from a location in the US…

This company is based in Germany, so if you do not quickly discontinue their auto send scheme, you receive unwanted product and must pay $106 to send it back to Germany whereby they "refund" a mere $59. don't fall for it. Choose another product.

The taste wasn’t what was expecting. Hard to finish order.

I’m four days into replacing my lunches with the chocolate shake. It tastes like most other chalky protein shakes (ie: not very appealing). But the bigger issue is that it is causing a decent bit of GI distress. I am getting heartburn about an hour after drinking the shake, and am gassy/bloated for the rest of the day to the point of discomfort. I will keep trying till the full pack runs out. But probably won’t buy more.

Thank you for your feedback Robin! We have passed on your note about the flavor and consistency to our product development team - we make all of our shakes in small batches and are continuously improving our recipe to try and cater to as many unique palettes as possible! What we have also heard from some customers is that it may help to slowly transition into using the shakes, for example: 1. Begin with a half a portion first, and eventually work your way up to a full portion as your body adjusts to receiving this level of good nutrients 2. Start with a shake every-other day until your body adjusts 3. In the beginning, it may be helpful to have a baseline layer of food in your stomach prior to drinking the shake - which can help regulate your stomach acid. To make it easier, we recommend having this as a lunch, after a light breakfast. The light breakfast should help coat your stomach and help with bringing your body to the level of nutrients provided in each shake. We would love to continue the conversation and give more advice on how to better ramp on with Biome Secret shakes - if you reach out to [email protected] we will try our best to help!
