Wait times are too long
The employees are always awesome but the wait times make it extremely difficult to donate. I have had to leave twice because visit was over 90 min and I had to pick up my kids.

Wait times are highly unpredictable. I've been there 2-3 hrs every time i've gone. I have been sent to a flooded section only to watch the 5 other people in line behind me get beds and hooked up while i'm still the 3rd waiting in a section. There is also a particular nurse at the Lenexa location that CAN NOT get my veins. I've had her 3 times despite going at various days/times. She gets me started then always leaves, someone has to come readjust and or go to the other arm! I've also had to be cleaned up multiple times because i'm bleeding down my arm as a result.

I think the program is great but on the other hand , the workers are rude , rough with a needle and finger poke . Altho we get paid we also deserve some respect . I think the help could be more professional and nice .

The check in process is extremely slow when one particular girl is working. It seems as if she does not want to be there in general. It is more important for her to be chatting about weekend plans or just anything in general, and is a HUGE distraction to the others working as well. One time I timed how long it took for her to get through 4 people ahead of me (there were no other walk ups) and it literally took 45 min to check in 4 PEOPLE! The beds in the back were legitimately empty and the techs were walking up front to see what was happening, which distracted her even more. People in line were voicing their frustration to each other and were very upset which I'm SURE she heard. She could care less. This happens EVERY time she is working. She sometimes just stares at us in line and then will just dilly dally around. Her station will be clean and ready to go, but will not call the next donor over until she's done chit chatting with the person next to her about whatever she is talking about. She DOES NOT CARE. She clearly doesn't want to be there. I cringe when I walk in and she is there. It sucks. Other than that, I enjoy going to this location. Everyone is great at the Carpenter Road location in Pittsfield Twnship.

It only takes me 30 minutes to donate with the new machines (awesome!)....but many of us have been there for 2 hours or more lately. The company needs to either have more staff working or less appointment options. People are grumpy and it's not the staff's fault--they are working hard! The company needs to address this.

1st appoint for physical exam at 10AM, didn’t get seen for almost two hours. Then another hour in line, then an hour to donate. This place has 8 bays, each has 6 beds. But they only have half of those open. The 5 donations that followed have all been the same. Today; 30 minutes to get the screening, 1hour and 45 minutes from the time I started the line for donation. And I’m only half way through the line. Staff is friendly, and professional when they take your blood. And the place is clean and spotless. But they need to keep these lines moving. My shortest visit to date was 3 hours. Longest, was my first visit at 6 hours. Collecting to the end of the promotion and looking elsewhere to donate. My time is worth more than waiting.

I signed up for the new donor incentive for 8 donations in a month. i provided the medical history as requested on my initial visit. I was able to donate a couple of times. I scheduled my 3rd donation but was not allowed to donate because my blood work had not yet come back. A couple weeks later I was called and told me my blood work came back fine and I could donate. I did a 3rd donation but my promo was about to expire because of the couple weeks I was not allowed to donate waiting on blood work. When I showed up for my fourth I was told I was not allowed to donate because I told them I had a cartilage tear in my knee appropriately 1 month ago during my initial visit. I took time to drive up there 5 times and only allowed to donate 3 times. I won’t be back, is not worth the hassle and time.

I went in to be a new donor and despite having an appointment at a set time, I waited in line for hours. I was extremely uncomfortable when the nurse kept asking me about mental health and my past mental health experiences, and other things that have NOTHING to do with my blood. She then asked me to tell her what meds I take and I couldn’t remember the name of my birth control, so I guessed (and told her I wasn’t sure). She looked at me like I was crazy. (I guessed right). After several hours I was sent home because I had to get my doctor to sign a form for me because of something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH BLOOD. To make it all better, I was talking to another donor near the waiting room and she mentioned that she thought it was cold inside, and I simply agreed. A nurse walked by and told me “well you aren’t wearing much that’s why”. Excuse me? I was wearing shorts and a tank top. Overall, for someone volunteering to be stuck with a needle multiple times and donate hours of their time, I should have been treated better.
