I love the people working there! Basically everyone has wonderful bed side manner! They try to be as quick and efficient as possible, however, with thier computers and appointments I have been turned away more than once, the associates should have more ability to modify and put in/fix appointments! I do also believe that biolife (nothing to do with the employees) as a company on whole takes too much plasma! I am 5 foot, yet if I gain weight, my plasma donated goes up. Makes sense, right? however, their should be a cap like at other plasma donating centers like biomat! Donating 900 mg is not healthy for a 5 foot woman, no matter what her weight is, the concern should be around the health of the individual donating and not how much plasma/money you can get from them without considering factors like body size vs BMI. THe goal should be over all health to keep healthy donators thrive and keep donating, not to deplete everything to the point of differal or sickness. I've never had issues with my stats going down like protein/hematocrit levels at any other donating facility that is not biolife because no matter what they do not take more than 800 mg from me, which concerns me about biolife.

Some great people just so unstaffed
Some great people just so understaffed. You maybe have two screener usually. 15 people in line to be screened. Screener still have to pay attention to people at front desk so makes it take longer. I drive an hour to donate and walked out twice cause line was so long. I think I am done.

Biolife is a great way to help others…
Biolife is a great way to help others and their employees are kind, wonderful and very polite and I donate 2 times a week, the only hard part is to find a babysitter for my kids. I wish they would open up the kids play around so I can take them with me and not worry about who's going to watch them...

Very frustrated
I have been going here to Mt. Juliet, TN Biolife for over 3 years. Its been as long as everything goes well and there are no hiccups. I drive a very good distance. About a year ago, my pulse was too high (and it was high) so i was turned away.. Yes, its a bummer. But, its the rules. Last week, the same thing happened. THE MACHINE said so, so regardless of what my pulse actually was (I counted it for 60 seconds and 90 was the highest it ever was in those 5 minutes I waited for recheck) they still MUST go by a machine..They wouldn't even recheck it on another machine.. That's the rules she says. . The nurse said that was the FDA rules, not theirs, so I need to complain to them( FDA).. Not sure when we (MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS) started relying solely on machines for our vital signs, but evidently a RN isn't capable of palpating and counting someone's pulse at this company, and solely the machine is all that can be used PER POLICY. That's my first beef with them, rules or not, that's absolutely ridiculous. I spoke to my doctor the next day, & she also agreed that's absolutely absurd. I left and walked across street, upset at this point, and its 100 degrees outside, checked my pulse at walmart less than 5 minutes after they said mine was too high at (106) and on the Walmart machine is 93.. All i can do is laugh... If anything, it should have been way high!! So that was last week. This week I come back... They routinely do labs as they get plasma to check protein levels.. Well, evidently my blood was drawn and messed up several weeks ago, and this could be for a number of reasons, but they had to redraw it the last time I gave, which was over 2 weeks now. Today, I drive here to give. Its a scheduled appt. It gets flagged as,air sign it. It won't allow me to. and says I can't give until lab is back; its still pending from 2 weeks ago.. From redrawn where it was screwed up the week before.. So, yet again, I left work early, went over 2 hours out of my way for a SCHEDULED appointment and turned away. No one could have mentioned this last week when i drove here and was turned away after being allowed to sign in and give?? Lab wasn't back that day either!
I didn't get any phone call, no notification , nothing to let me know I was not eligible to donate today. The nurse today "Sharie??? Sharey??" Not sure spelling of name tells me they just do not have time to do that.. Not enough time or staff to give a call out to people with appointments, but unable to give. . So in the last 2 weeks i have wasted 5 hours of my time to be turned away and wasted.
Granted, up until last week, I have not really had much of an issue except they do not get in any hurry, and they have never seemed to value the clients "time" at all, but hey, I know that, and I'm willing to go and give and spend a couple hours of my day to make a little money, and help others lives. But this last 2 weeks has really been upsetting, and the nurse was today was pretty arrogant about me being frustrated..which didn't sit very well with me either. I know its not "her" fault, and never once did I have any attitude as if it was. Frustrated, of course, did it show, absolutely. But, as a nurse myself, having a little compassion and acting like you can understand someone's frustration can go along way.. I mean, if i could afford to drive an extra 5 hours and could afford to leave work, I probably wouldn't be trying to give plasma for a some extra money.. She could have at least apologized for her companies very FLAWED system. She seemed super "put out" from the start that the lady checking me in (Patty) had asked her to talk to me and help me understand why I was allowed to give last week with "pending results" but not today. The first thing Sharie (the nurse) says as she looks at me is "i can talk until I am blue in the face, she's still not donating today, the rules are rules"... That was uncallled for, and unprofessional. Obviously my frustration was more apparent after that rude comment (towards Patty) who was helping me out. Patty was very sweet, and I could tell she was trying to help me in any way and she genuinely cared that I had driven so far, but Sharie couldn't have cared less. She was very put out she had to explain to me why machines ARE THE NORM & RULE & must be used solely, and its FDA rules. She really didn't have mucH of explanation to why last week I was eligible with pending labs (had my pulse been on) but today I cannot. They must go by what "system" says regardless of circumstances.. Patty said she would try to get my promotion extended, as it expires soon, and now I will be unable to use the full coupon. If wasn't for Patty, today would have been less than a 1 star.

Expect 2+ hour wait
Everything really was great, EXCEPT for the wait. I would go after work and set the appointment for 4:50 and I always arrived early, but I wouldn't usually get to leave until 7 or 730. The first appointment was actually faster because they let you cut in line and it takes only 2 hours including the physical. The follow-up visits are supposed to be a total of 1 hour, but that definitely won't happen. So appointments were consistently longer than 2 hours. This was at the San Bernardino location. I donated 6 times, but can't do it anymore because of how long it takes. BTW the actual donation portion only takes 35 minutes.

The staff is friendly, but very distracted from their job.
The staff is friendly for the most part. 1st visit i was there for over 5 hours to donate. 2nd visit which i just completed yesterday over 2 hours. I showed up 17 mins early for my appointment and was told i had to wait outside the building until 10 mins before my appointment time, just 7 minutes but still. 2nd dontation is supposed to be one of the first to get a bed, not this time took several from the other section before me. After an hour of being there finally got called up, was finished in 25 mins but had to sit there for an additional 25 minutes due to the staff standing around talking about their shoes and not doing their job. Very hesitant to return for my 3rd appointment as the money isn't worth the time i've spent there. 7 hours so far for $180 isn't worth my time. Maybe 1 more shot.

Inconsiderate people
Today was horrible some people are so inconsiderate to others, I mean come on the way you talk to a human being, it's not receptionist fault that you don't have the right credentials, way to stay humble Ms Priscilla most people would not have reacted like you, wish I could have said something to him, but that's I had to leave a review. @BIO.LIFE doing a wonderful job of hiring friendly and very courteous people.

Poor management or system
For the second time, I had a phlebotomist at BioLife Plasma Tulsa get someone going on their donation before she started my donation. They clearly need a better system there. I donated many times in Baton Rouge LA and never once experienced anything like the wait times and this issue with connection. I have spent 2 1/2 hours making a donation now a couple of times which is ridiculous!
