Horrible experience.
Horrible experience. I have had horrible experiences regarding the service. Several months ago while I was donating, for some reason that was never explained to me, the machine sounded an alarm and I was unable to complete the donation. The only information I received that day was that I have to go to my primary doctor to have an evaluation to see if I am okay and I had no effect because I could not receive my blood back. They explained to me that they are not responsible for paying for the doctor or any exams and that if I don't have health insurance, I should try to figure out how to solve it. 3 months after I was able to go to the doctor, the doctor asked me what exactly the Biolife staff needed to see written in the letter, I gave the same explanation they gave me, that I need an evaluation and to see if I am suitable to donate again. My doctor sent me the letter, I approached Biolife since they never answer calls by phone. The person who spoke to me that day gave me a different explanation, telling me that I needed to bring printed laboratory results in addition to the letter. After a week they informed me that the Doctor who reviews the tests needs more laboratory tests and another medical letter including more information. I had a medical appointment again, he performed the tests and printed a new letter. And I started donating again but on the third donation, I couldn't donate anymore as my blood draw had been lost, I only received excuses from the staff. The same thing happened when I just started donating for the first time, my blood tests were missing. I tell my story because I think the staff at Biolife in Metford do not take their clients seriously and are not trained to provide the best care. I wasted a lot of time because if from the beginning I had received the correct information about what laboratory tests and how the letter from my doctor should be written, I would not have wasted so much time of my life. It takes me an hour to get to Biolife by public transport. I don't have a car. Besides, they never answer the calls, I expressed this with the staff but there is no solution. Going to Biolife with all the enthusiasm to donate and suddenly receiving the information that I cannot when they had already told me that I am eligible to donate is exasperating. The attention is terrible, they are not trained to give clear information how is the process when this kind of thing happens and provide excellent customer service, they play with the clients' time as if it did not matter and they do nothing to change. What a shame that one as a person takes time to go donate and receive this treat from the staff.
