Wait time at the Muncie location is horrendous! It takes 3 hours just to get screened. What good is making an appointment if ur wait time to get screened is 3 hours?!? The staff is amazing and the facility is clean.

Long wait time
The staff is always friendly. My biggest complaint is the wait time. I think that people who make appointments should take priority over walk-ins. Was there 3 1/2 hours today. Not sure this will be worth my time even though it is for a good cause.

Time to donate
When I first started going to donate I was not in line for testing very long, then I would get a color and would be almost immediately shown to a chair and the donation would begin, now it seems that the process takes hours. I don’t go sometimes because I do not have the time that it takes to get to the chair to donate.

Waste of your time
The people that work at Biolife are excellent but unless you get there really early, the wait times can really suck. If I can't get an early appt, then I won't waste my time even going. Also, for the money that they give you is not worth the trip there, especially if you live more than 15 minutes away. Definitely won't be wasting my time anymore.

Good
Good; The site is still fairly new and very clean. Roughly 30-50 chairs, with capacity for more. Easy location to find. Not so good; staffing shortages leads to very long wait times. With roughly 6 vital stations, only staffing 2 or 3 at best. Wait time to get to vitals is 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Chair staffing is better, but still not great. For my last 3 donations, I have not been in and out in less than 2-1/2 hours, sometimes 3. Staff is overworked and stressed. Not overly friendly or caring, just trying to get through the backlog. Not feeling appreciated.

Great staff, but frequent issues are keeping me from continuing
I was recommended by a loved one to donate at least for the first month, for the introductory compensation. Onboarding was long but fine, and the staff all seemed friendly and experienced. However, while the nurses on staff found my veins easily, the technician who saw me first decided to go for a side vein and missed. A second technician took over and succeeded, but the experience left a hematoma. My second visit was similar. Although I was well-hydrated, the venepuncture was just off and felt uncomfortable. I became concerned when my machine faulted several times to stop bubbles in my tube, and the technician had to consult a guidebook to fix it. As I reached the end of my donation, I felt a rapid chemical imbalance, accompanied by a sudden panic attack. Once I alerted staff they responded quickly and effectively, and were very supportive.
**Overall, BioLife staff were excellent in their responses, and the nurses are absolutely great. Some technicians are more experienced than others, and they seem slightly overloaded with the number of donations seen over the course of a shift. For prospective donors, I recommend trusting your body from the beginning, and not risking injury or severe distress if concerns show up early on. Many people donate successfully, and issues are treated seriously when they arise! But with this many problems after only two donations, I simply cannot be comfortable continuing.

I love the workers and the compensation. I just wish that the wait time was less and that it was clearer what I need to do to ensure that I have a successful donation.

Donation Completion too long / Payout Decreased
I have been donating for a few years. Recently the payout is less and the donation time is longer. I never get out in less than 2 hrs. This equates to less money per visit ---
I will pause my donation until the facility get organized. This is sad because there are people in need of plasma. Biolife is making so much money selling a bag of plasma and rewarding the donors less. Greedy
