Unfortunately, this is the fifth time in a row I tried to donate Plasma (after three successful donations) and my Hematocrit level is a point too high. I am not too sure what to do about it. The staff at Biolife says to drink more water, that has not helped. I spoke to the nurses there but they don't or can not explain it nicely. I drove from Torrance to Pomona five times - the experience has cost me a lot of money.

Didn't get paid for over 2 days after the last donation. Very unprofessional attitude at this location recently, with a NURSE telling someone that they couldn't hydrate the morning of a donation, as the water would just sit in their stomach for hours (water is evacuated in 5 to 20 minutes). They are mostly competent, but staffing has been an issue recently at this location. They threatened to fire a phleb recently and now everyone is on edge and making it uncomfortable for donors (not to mention that they won't shut down people who refuse to use headphones during donations). AND, they lowered the rate of the 2nd weekly donation by 5 bucks, when each donation sells to their own vertically integrated drug company for 1000 bucks, that plasma making the drug company 18,000 bucks! Cheap.

Biolife Plasma Services in San Marco was very friendly when it first opened. Now they are short staff the front desk lady talks down to people and it's a hit or miss with staff. I have also had to call several times to get my money loaded onto my card properly. Sometimes it takes over night. Card services said this happens a lot. Imagine the money they are making both directions! Giving can take over two hours!

My recent visit was unfortunately a less that perfect experience.The technician was new missed my vein and had another technician reposition it; when the machine was doing my return the needle started vibrating sending pain through my arm giving a sensation that my vein was going to rupture when the machine shut down experience technician came over mentioned that the needle was against the wall of my vein so we had to switch to my other arm. My arm has bruised for the 1st time ever keeping me from being able to donate and leaving me in pain for almost 5 days after the donation it’s been 7 days since the occurrence and I’m still bruised..new technicians should probably receive more training before being allowed to stick a donor; for the most part the majority of the state college pa staff are very good and knowledgeable!

For the first time I feel I'm not important to your company. Not getting paid costed me my electricity. Now I have to be without until Tuesday. But thanks for the lovely experience 🙏.

Honestly, it's just not worth it. The location in Roanoke, Virginia will take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours to get you in and out and with the pay rate what it is now I can't justify the time. The ROI just isn't there.

Bio Life facilities are very clean. My disappointment came when the initial promo all promo's there after are 2 day promotions. When you donate thereafter you get a low ball amount for your 1st donation and double the amount on the 2nd donation. You are given 1 week to complete that leaves no room for error. When I went to the Pomona facility on Dec. 3rd for my 2nd donation, my pulse rate was 5 bps over the maximum. The issue is this data is for all ages and does not consider the different age groups. After the 2nd test of 106 bps I was declined to provide a donation. This would have been my 2nd donation for the promotion ended today. I feel Bio Life can honor the promotion for the following day.

Two times I went only to have both arms stuck with negative results. Some of the blood drawers are inadequate they will leave bad bruising. Also, they should give you more advice as when to not come in. Going 80 miles round trip to only be sent home because of bruising sucks! Then there is the knowledge that they are owned by a Japanese company called Takeda is a little off-setting. Add to this that the company can earn a minimum of 5000 off of each donation really makes it seem as if the donors are getting screwed.
