I don't know if I would trust this organization. I called three different locations here in Vegas, none of them answered the phone. I just had a couple questions about the process. Thank God I found out before I went.

Kind
My experience at BioLife was good. I really enjoyed talking with the staff. The young lady who did my vital this morning put a smile on my face. Thank you so much. I’m thankful for Amanda being kind and working hard

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
My first time donating was fine and painless, the second time however started with the phlebotomist pretending not to hear me even though she was standing 3 feet away and I said "excuse me" multiple times. Then I went up to her and showed her the soda that was left at the donation bed and asked what I should do with it. Immediately I sensed something was off and I wish I had walked out then. Later before the donation started, I asked which arm we should go ahead with, she said it didn't matter and didn't even look. I thought that was strange, since last time they had checked both arms and veins to see which one would be more suitable. Then she took a while before she found the vein and it was very painful when she did. She said "your vein moved but I got it". The pain continued for a while and my arm turned purple and numb, so I called a second phlebotomist to tell her the situation, and she moved the needle for a while and did some adjustments but my arm turned pink from purple but the numbness was still there. So I called the same (second) phlebotomist again after a while and she said some numbness was okay. After the donation was over my arm was still hurting and numb, so I went to a nurse who said it looks like they hit a nerve and they would call me the next day to ask me how I was. Noone called. When they called 4 days later and I told them I had a giant bruise on my arm, still some pain and weakness, the same nurse who had told me they hit a nerve 4 days ago, now told me it was mentioned in the disclaimer that that could happen, they couldn't do anything about it, it was normal to have a "reaction". When I told them I didn't have this "reaction" the first time I donated and I knew it wasn't normal to still have pain and weakness after 4 days and she had told they hit a nerve and now she was saying it was a "reaction" because I was probably dehydrated or hadn't eaten, she said they couldn't "hold each person's hand when they were donating". That really infuriated me because that showed how careless they were and that this or worse would happen again to someone else. I asked them what precautions they were planning to prevent that and how they would compensate me, she said that phlebotomist had been warned and they couldn't compensate me for my time, energy or pain, they just would pay for the medical expenses. I told them it wasn't about this one phlebotomist who was probably overworked and too busy, it was an institutional problem, but she didn't seem interested.
Overall, I still have weakness in my arm because Biolife didn't do their job properly or carefully, it depends on your luck at ending up with a phlebotomist that is not exhausted that day and worst of it, they do not care to fix the problem or compensate. Healthcare is a serious business and there are very serious consequences of donating plasma, AVOID THIS PLACE.

They don't even deserve a 1 star
They don't even deserve a 1 star. I honestly wanted to help, however I work in a law firm in Summerlin and live in Henderson. I am away from home for 10 hours and rushed to Henderson to do my physical and donate. They did half my physical and sent me home because they were busy and it was getting late, even though this was a scheduled appointment, they sent me home. Asked me to come back for the rest. Never compensated for my time mind you. I waited 3 weeks for the Summerlin location to open up. Went there tonight and not only did they give me the 3rd degree at my initial check in, after that got worked out they took my physical and the very, under, educated girl told me I had high blood pressure. I told her the cuff never got tight. It didn’t even measure my blood pressure and she told me it did and it was high that I needed to go to the bathroom, walk around and calm down and then she would try it again. My Diastolic on their machine was 168. Nothing but a doctor and medication is going to help that. I came back after she felt like I was calmed down and re-measured me. Now I was 120/84. She tells me, “see you just needed to calm down!” OMG!! after I told her this time the cuff started working. Then they put me through the questions, blood sample and physical. Supposed to take 40 minutes according to their little card they give you. I’m now 2 hours into this before a nurse calls for them to take me to the donation center and gets stopped by the supervisor because she wants them to give me a form for my doctor to fill out to authorize me to give blood for having a minor form of neuropathy, they said they didn’t want to damage my arms by drawing blood, yet I’ve given blood, had I.v.’s, and blood drawn, and not one time has a medical professional been worried about drawing my blood. They couldn’t had this as an initial question and saved me a couple of hours, but a condition that is caused by untreated damage in my neck. Now they played off that and said they didn’t want me to be in the same position in the chair while getting my plasma taken for 60 minutes just in case is caused problems. Not like I haven’t been in a chair with y’all for 2 hours now plus the 1 hour from the other location. Y’all didn’t care about that. Now they wanted to send me with an authorization from my Doctor to allow them to draw plasma from me. WTH? Now I have to take time off work to take my doctor some forms for a mild diagnosis that has been under control for over 15 years and isn’t contagious in any way. LOL!
No thank you!! I asked if I was going to be compensated for the 3 hours of my time so far, but unfortunately without the plasma they couldn’t compensate me. Just took all my information, where my tattoos are located and what they looked like, pictures of my face and a blood sample. Went to get the “doctor’s release forms” for me and take more of my time while they slowly filled them out. I told them to save their time that I would never be back and thank you for wasting my time! I will be requesting all my information be destroyed.

Worst customer service ever!
Worst customer service ever!! Will never ever go back. Manager at my center just thinks you are a piece of crap. Asked for a District Manager to call me and explain to me about an issue and was told by Ass't manager that since I need to speak with a D.M. I was not welcomed back to biolife because of their serious mistake and it sounds like instead of getting reprimanded for the mistake it would be easier for them just to deny this loyal donor from coming back just because I wanted to speak to someone higher outside the location because they could not provide me the information on my issue. Terrible and treats you like you are way below them.

COVID breakout waiting to happen
I visited the site in Riverdale, Maryland and was immediately taken aback by the line of people ahead of me, although an appointment is required. While I understand it's a business, it's also a medical facility. Besides me, I only saw two people wearing a mask or shield and they were employees. Other staff members were unmasked as were virtually every donor on the premises, many of whom looked as if health maintenance was not a priority.
Fortunately, I couldn't donate because one of my blood pressure numbers were a point above where it should be. After reading other reviews and considering my initial visit I'm now cancelling my rescheduled date. I don't feel safe from a medical perspective to revisit and donate.
