Big Home TaxReviews of bighometax.com

Is the Big Home Tax a safe place to download TurboTax? I purchased TurboTax 2024 Premier from Big Home Tax, and I downloaded TurboTax from the link they sent me by email, during the installation a dialogue popped up asked me a login password, I also received SMS with a phone number for WhatsApp contact, I asked through WhatsApp what is this password, I got the answer that would be my computer login password, I thought this is a scam, I immediately denied to provide my login password. Now I am wondering either the Big Home Tax is a scam/fraud site or a scam/fraud company/person attaching to it, maybe I should not install the software from them ?

======================================== Update, the vendor did reach out to me through whatsapp and their efforts to try to assist me has me convinced that their intentions are good and the business is legit. That said, the idea that a customer has to download Intuit software from a website that is not owned by Intuit is not very good practice in 2024 where there are many identity theft money lurking scams out there.. ======================================== I did purchase TurboTax Deluxe (Federal and State) and while I am able to download the Windows installation from this vendor's own website, on Intuit.com it's indicated that the license code is for Mac OS only and won't let me download the Windows version. I find this extremely suspicious, shady at best, and prefer to not download software from 3rd party websites (where it potentially could have been tampered with).

I experienced much of what I see in the comments. I was in a continuous loop of asking me to update TT and getting an error. Fortunately, I had saved my taxes I ended up completely uninstalling TT2022 and reinstalling it. I am planning to E-File next week. I have used TT for many years and usually purchase off of Amazon, but liked the lower price BHT offered. Never again, not worth the trouble. So far everything looks good on TT, but my final evaluation will be if the E-filing goes well.
