It's a good starter cart but as your business grows you will very quickly learn it will hold you back. In our case it's like steeping over dollars to pick up pennies. Over the last year or so I had contacted them with a number of shortcomings, the actual support is great, but they can't help you if the software was not designed for the real commerce in the 1st place. Let me give you a gleaming example: Ebay listing option allows you to list ONLY 1 image, yes....you are reading this right. In the image driven world where a picture is worth a thousand words, Big Commerce support told me they had never heard anybody asking for more than one image.......really? The worst part about it is, there is no reason for a such a dumb shortcoming. So....try to sell clothing, shoes, etc, etc. Big Commerce Ebay feature is useless, this is coming from a provider claiming to make your life easier.

I chose BigCommerce over the other companies because of the features they offered. Many of them were exactly what I was looking for, some of them were things I hadn't even thought of. I am so glad I made the decision!! The customer service is outstanding! Hands down the best customer service I have ever experienced. It is refreshing to know good customer service is still out there. They help me day or night, sometimes multiple times in a day. I always get my questions answered, they do whatever it takes to help with problems and are always very professional. They offer paid sessions on a number of things that have helped me and I can live chat with someone 24/7 if I have a question. 100% satisfied with BigCommerce and their staff!

BigCommerce recently encountered a server issue where the system crashed for several days. During the downtime, Bigcommerce, via a very tedious circumlocution, concluded that it was not their fault; it was the hosting company's error. The server status is the tip of the iceberg. I highly recommend visiting: status.bigcommerce.com to see the various errors/downtimes Bigcommerce experiences in a given month. In addition, many of the tools offered by Bigcommerce are quickly becoming an additional expense: traditional statistics offered, which included which products sold in which quantities, has not been 'upgraded' to show a truncated list of the top 3; you can purchase an additional package to acquire more descriptive statistics.

Our site has been down for for over a day. It is currently working somewhat but barely. Not once have they even sent out a notification explaining the outage and issues. I had to search to find the answer as to why there were no sales when I came into work the following morning. Besides lost revenue we have lost ad dollars as well. This is the final straw with this incompetent company.

I would NOT recommend to others. They have a very good set up, but, they keep wanting to charge for Professional services, which I accepted (at $500.00) and they only accomplished ONE thing for me and that still has bugs in it, and, they want me to spend more money to talk with another pro... Go somewhere else....

Really solid website to run a business on. Loads of help and support available and anything you might think is missing seems to be in the pipe line to get added. Really happy with it

We moved to Big Commerce from another platform and purchased the Platinum Package so we would get the White Glove implementation. It was terrible. They moved some files, but seemed mainly interested in having us sign off on their changes by checking a few items. It took weeks for us to get items fixed. Then, we would have weekly 45 minute consultations with their consultants, who seemed mainly interested in getting shipping and payment processing set up. The consultant who we were assigned to told us to call him when we were ready to launch. So we ignored him and spent our time talking with their fantastic tech support team, which spent as much time as we needed getting our site ready for launch. We paid a premium for a service that basically sucked and lucked out because Tech Support is awesome. We launched about a month ago and still have some growing pains. Sales are lower than on our previous platform, but the functionality on Big Commerce is much better, so we expect that sales will ultimately be higher here.

We transitioned a site from another hoisting service - purchased the platinum plan to have them do the initial white glove setup. Unbelievable how easy they made it. Took some time for us to decide on template and then to customize it ourselves. But their support team would send us emails or call us periodically to check in and see how we were doing and if we needed help. The company, PSDCenter, that we bought a premium template from also offered awesome tech support for free. Then when launch day came it was a breeze. Went over the entire backend, they took care of DNS and MX transfers..etc. Just a wonderful experience that I will highly recommend to my other and future clients.
