I was initially skeptical of this type of therapy. I gave it a try and I wish I would have known about it and tried this 10 years ago. Over a decade of talk-therapy, anti-anxiety, anti-depression medications and countless herbal supplements wouldn't break through. At this point I've done 8 years of regular Mindfulness work. Consequently I've come to terms with the fact that I have many conditions in my past that have predisposed me to anxiety, depression and social withdrawal. There was a scheduling snafu that resulted in me needing to re-schedule an appointment I had already done (kinda). I was frustrated, and trying to understand why I had to do another one despite already talking with my clinician the day before. Kristel was the representative who was just so so patient and was really doing her best to listen as I was being not so patient. I did customer service for ~15 years, with nearly 10 of those years being some form of phone support. I know it's not easy, and have a lot of respect for how she handled it. She listened to me patiently and calmly, and we realized the source of the issue. In the end I still have to "repeat" the appointment, but it isn't causing me any disruptions or costing me anything. Software isn't infallible, and the people who step in to put things in their place when a hitch happens are in an unenviable position. You can't just wave a magic wand to fix the customer's problem. But you can be patient, and understanding, and calm. It's a hard balance that Kristel nailed. Overall, the experience with BetterU has been great! They've been communicative, and have provided a plethora of resources as I heal. I'm so grateful they've been able to help me.
