Great experience and really nice people

Carlos was Brilliant- Customer service was outstanding. We booked a pearl harbour tour at first, to my surprise Carlos rang me straight after to discuss options and to make sure that was the right tour for us. Every activity we enquired about we were sent back a price and two or three similar activities to compare and make an informed choice. When I mentioned we were hiring a car to drive around the island, he sent a list of his favorite places to stop and activities to do- none of which required buying tickets through Best of Hawaii. We ended up booking three activities/tours through Best of Hawaii- Pearl Harbour & Aviator museum, Friday Night Dinner & Fireworks cruise (Highly recommended!) and the Sea Life Park Dolphin Encounter. Everything was as expected and the tour guide was phenomenal!

I paid a lot of money for the luau which included transportation to the event. Transportation (to me) is a simple ride to and from the event. Unfortunately, the guide, (heavy set Hawaiian woman named Funi??) decided to force Polynesian culture on the bus. Then made fun of or harassed the people on the bus that didn't want to participate. I just wanted a ride so I could enjoy the Luau but the forcing of Polynesian culture and harassment by the guide had me wanting to return home before we even got to the event grounds. All I wanted was some Hawaiian pork, but I had to wait for that while they went through all the side events. The staff even tried to force me to attend one of the side events (unvailing of the pig) when I didn't want to. So, I decided to return to the bus. However, the bus drivers were not with their buses so I had to wait about 2.5hrs until they returned so I could get back on the bus. I was told (inside the event) that if I went outside the event, it would be no problem getting back in. I am disabled and need to get up and walk around (with a cane) after sitting for awhile and vice versa....sit after I have been standing for a while. There were 4 tour buses ONLY in the huge parking lot at Paradise Cove and no cars, parked or entering/exiting. So, since I needed to walk, I walked around the parking lot. I was harassed but one of the security guards and was threatened with being arrested for walking in the parking lot. She stated she needed to make sure Paradise cove customers were safe and she didn't want me to get hit by a car. I am 62yrs old, I can see a car coming towards me and get out of the way, NOT to mention, as I stated earlier, there were NO VEHICLES in the parking lot. I was then told I would not be able to reenter the Paradise Cove (to join my wife)! So, basically I paid for the Paradise Cove Luau event but didn't get to attend it. A huge waste of my time and money. To top it all off, in all of that disgust, the $5 flute I purchased in the souvenir store for my son got lost while waiting outside the event! Those are my reasons for the 1 star
