Sheffield St Pauls
Sheffield St Pauls, no ambience, poor quality food. If you love your food don’t go here. Waiter service very good though. That’s why I gave it two stars. Otherwise would be one star.

Portsmouth Gunwharf quays. Food awful, service not interested. Basic Italian food butchered for high prices. Avoid. I wish I’d taken a photo of the bruschetta - tomatoes literally thrown onto soggy bread. My salmone was dreadful, salmon sitting in bean soup in reality. The waiter asked if my daughter would like to have the food she hadn’t eaten boxed up to take home - no, she hadn’t eaten it as it was vile. I’ll not ever be going back.

Frigo e letti anni 80, muffa in bagno.

We chose Bella Italia out of several nearby Italian restaurants in Brighton as the menu contained everything to suit the whole family - including calamari, carbonara, and vegan pizza options. To their credit, the local restaurant staff were lovely (hence not getting a one star rating). It’s a shame about the company’s attitude though. I was initially pleasantly surprised when they asked about food allergies, thinking this showed good diligence. However, as soon as I mentioned that my daughter has a (mild) allergy to two very specific types of nuts, we were surprised to be told (in an pizza and pasta restaurant) that the options would be ‘very limited’ and we needed to use a bar code to find out what it safe to eat. The bar code took us to a Bella Italia website page which may as well have said ‘we can’t be bothered to work out the ingredients in our own food or take any precautions so anyone with any kind of allergies isn’t welcome and shouldn’t eat here’. There was nothing on the menu containing the nuts to which my daughter reacts. We decided to use our own knowledge and understanding of the extent of it own daughter’s risk levels and order calamari - something she loves and orders whenever she sees it on a menu anywhere. They returned with our drink orders and casually told us (after the kids had taken a drink) that they won’t serve her calamari or anything else that goes in the fryer because they couldn’t guarantee it’s safe. It seemed that even fries etc were off the menu. For a nut allergy! They wouldn’t allow us to use our own judgement and basically banned from eating half the menu because of ‘company policy’. I’m horrified to know that a restaurant chain don’t know what ingredients are in their own food. What does that tell you about the quality of the food? Well the vegan pizza had little lumps of what was clearly pre-frozen and chopped spinach, whilst the carbonara had such large, hard, and salty lumps of pancetta that my other daughter couldn’t chew them and had to pick them out. The calzone lacked sauce and was too dry (how is that even possible with a calzone?) whilst the sauce in the pizzas was all distributed around the edges /crusts with very little in the main part of the pizza. Lovely staff but the company seems to be around 30 years behind the times regarding their ingredients, quality, and their appalling and discriminatory attitude to those with food allergies.

Bella italia near Sondheim theatre London. Following a pleasant theatre trip yesterday 18.12.21 and visits to Bella in Bristol which were good previously. Yesterday’s visit was underwhelming. Chicken Caesar salad came without the chicken on it! Partner had finished his meal by the time my missing chicken arrived. Tables too close together,no social distancing. Waiting staff pleasant but we won’t be back I’m afraid.

Food was ok, service was a little slow, and overall it was too expensive. “Optional” service charge was added without any consent. I had to argue vigorously to get it refunded when I realised it had been added. Sly tactics, and we won’t be returning.

Really disappointed on a recent visit for my birthday celebrations. On arrival was given a list of items they didn't have including two of the starters and two of the desserts and there were not many choices to start with. We were advised on ordering drinks that the wine we wanted they didn't have. Probably a good thing as we were charged £28 for 4 glasses of the house rose! Six pints of coke and a pint of lemonade was also £28. (Taking these figures from the bill in front of me). Food wasn't hot and over priced for what we received. £23 for six small pots of rosemary fries. Sadly service was also slow and it wasn't busy... we now know why! Would not recommend and will not be returning. Optional service charge of £22.15. Bella Italia need to do a whole lot better! Absolute rip off!

Went into the Bella Italia Sixfields, Northampton on Saturday 26th September 2020 for an anniversary meal with my husband. Our starters of fried squid were fine and my husband's main meal of duck pasta was ok, not great though he said. My main meal was a traditional lasagne. It was tasteless and stodgy. I've had better ready meals. The atmosphere was bland, no background Italian music. The system was broken they said. Get something else then, get it fixed before you open! Not hard! The ladies toilets smelled of "toilet", no lock on one door. The toilets area looked shabby and unclean. No sanitiser in the toilets, it was outside the toilets they said. Should have been inside so after washing and drying hands, sanitiser could then be used immediately before touching the door again. The clientele that night were exceptionally noisy, however I accept Bella Italia cannot be held responsible for that! The lighting was bright and not subdued and the whole place felt cold and uninviting .My husband did attempt to speak to the Manager but he wasn't remotely interested. We will eat out to help out, but not at Bella Italia!
