Not willing to refund for a faulty electric blanket
Last year, a friend gifted me an electric blanket. I didn't use it until a month ago, but on the second use, it almost caught fire. As I noticed something smelling off, I switched off the electric blanket immediately. Upon closer inspection, I saw a burned mark with exposed wires, about the size of a 10c coin. I contacted customer service to request a refund or replacement for the faulty and unsafe blanket, but they refused to do so, citing that it was sold on an unofficial website (eBay) despite having a valid receipt to prove the purchase. They initially asked me to get a receipt from my friend and then suggested that I ask my friend again to contact the eBay seller to request a refund or replacement. I feel bad that I had to get my friend to do all of this because it was pretty impolite and inconvenient to ask for such actions. Despite acknowledging the issue, they still refused to take responsibility and provide a refund or replacement and this behaviour is highly irresponsible and unacceptable.
