Great customer service, Breville-good-bye beanz.com
I decided to try this subscription because Im still finding my way around what roasts and types of beans I prefer to pull espressos with. To my dismay the very first two bags I received with the subscription in Oct 2025 had EXPIRED 4-11-25!!! These bags were chosen for me because I didnt realize i had the option to chose my own. I answered 3 questions and I trusted the experts at beanz.com to send something tasty. I am so glad these were expired bec I ground the and tasted the espresso pull and it was horrible tasting. What really surprises me about this subscription is that Breville has partnered with beanz.com. First of all the 3 questions were not adequate to give anyone a clue as to what I like. They are the wrong questions. Instead of asking which flavor do you prefer? Choose one: fruity, caramel or chocolate. They should ask which roast level are you looking for? Then, on Breville’s site after you throw down $600 to $1200 to purchase your first espresso machine, the tutorials that you have access to say that you should use beans with a ROAST DATE. Not only did my bags have no roast date, even worse they had expired on 4-11-25!! I would not expect to pay for any subscription that sends me a $20 bag of beans without a roast date. Breville customer service was kind enough to replace these bags, but I have absolutely no confidence in the quality of beans sent by beanz.com, nor do I trust the way they run their organization. Its a shame. The coffee bean subscription model is very competitive and beanz.com blew it in the worst way. If i want beans with an expiration date I can go to Costco or my local grocery store. Unfortunately beanz.com will not have my business. I will give another subscription service my money.
