I am currently studying at SQE2 October…

I am currently studying at SQE2 October course and had an unpleasant experience I wanted to share. As you know, there are self-practice activities (SPAs) and practice feedback activities (PFAs). There is a theoretical opportunity to ask question on SPAs during strategy sessions. I submitted my 11 very short questions via a chatbox and the tutors simply refused to take all of them (!) explaining that are too many questions (why not answer at least some of them? what are these sessions for then?) suggesting I submit them via Legal Questions tool at the Resources page. Then they responded to later questions from other students which was especially humiliating. I tried to upload anything via the questions tool for a few minutes and the captcha check and the lengthy questionnaire (why do you need this at all?) did not allow me to submit my questions. Also the one question per form limitation is very unhelpful. I then used my last resort - the tutor - who simply ignored me. And there is no opportunity to discuss tutor feedback on PFAs at all! All of this is very disappointing and makes it totally unclear what we are paying for?

Hi Daria, Thanks for your comment. We’re sorry you have not been happy with you SQE2 Prep Course at BARBRI so far. To address some of your concerns, please note: 1. SPA workshops are designed for tutors to provide guidance and to answer any student questions. Although there is a set time for workshops, we allow time for students to ask questions at the end of each topic. To be fair to other students, tutors might not be able to get to every question. It is unfortunate you felt humiliated that all your questions were not answered. We’re sure it wasn’t personal nor was the tutor intending to be disrespectful, and we’d be happy to talk on how the experience can be improved for you. 2. The online email enquiry enables us to direct legal questions to the appropriate expert and students should get a response within 3 working days, and often receive a reply much quicker than this especially during periods leading up to the exams. You should receive a response to all your queries as there is no limit on the number of questions you can submit. Multiple duplicate entries can cause issues If you have not received a response, please re-submit your legal queries and don’t hesitate to follow up with scheduling. 3. We are sorry you felt your personal tutor was unresponsive this is not a typical experience. Personal tutors can be contacted by DM using your PSP, we will check with our IT whether your message was received and report back to you. 4. Written and video feedback from a tutor is available on a PFA. If you’re unclear about the feedback, please use strategy sessions to get more details. In the mock exams for advocacy and interviewing, there is time scheduled for you ask any questions about the feedback with the assessing tutor and a further 1:1 appointment is available with your personal tutor to discuss your mock performance, feedback, and revision plans. SQE1 Materials were outstanding; SQE2 materials much less so (lacked sufficient practice exams and other materials). UBE Materials OK. Not the same structure as the SQE materials, so very hard to follow -- no set syllabus for each area, so trying to crossreference materials from the lectures was very difficult.

The curriculum is easy to follow and adjustable to ones specific time needs. Would definitely recommend to anyone studying and working long hours in parallel.

Barbri's tutoring and study materials were pivotal in my SQE2 Examinations preparation. Slight room for improvement exists in expanding the pool of mock or practice questions for a more comprehensive experience.
