If I could give zero stars, there is no option for that. Did Jan 23 SQE 1 using Barbri online 40 weeks course materials. Exam questiones were way harder than Barbri prep materials and questions. Worst place to study SQE prep courses.

I studied for both SQE 1 and SQE 2 with Barbri. The courses were well structured with a range of materials making it possible to study effectively whilst working full time. The courses are a perfect example of online learning providing flexibility without compromising on quality. Every person I contacted at Barbri was responsive to any questions I had even before I signed up (in contrast to other providers I had contacted). I was among the first cohort of SQE students and felt well prepared for the exams. The learning coaches were very helpful and supportive. Overall, I felt the courses provided good value for money and I would highly recommend Barbri to anyone looking to prepare for the SQE.

Not very good. They do not have a mobile app for study

I did both SQE 1 and 2 with barbri. My feelings are mixed. SQE 1 The structure of the course was excellent. You had the system set out what you needed to do by when and it has pretty much all you need to know. Plenty of question practice and I felt it equipped you for the exam. Did I feel the questions were reflective of the real exam, NO! The exam are vastly different and I don’t think any provider is the same as the exam. I had a great tutor who looked after me through out SQE 1. The biggest issue for me was the actual support when you have queries and this is going to be the same for any online provider. You ask your query by email, and if you are lucky you will get a good response. If you end up with someone who picked up your query and is not understanding your issue then you will have multiple emails back and fourth. This for me was a big set back and it’s the same for SQE2. SQE2 The programme was focused more on the skills rather than the substantive law. This was a huge issue for many students. You came from the SQE 1 where everything was mapped out and you knew what was expected to a programme where you only discuss skill and the substantive law is left out. The law was what we needed from SQE 1 but the knowledge needed was slightly different and you are not practicing multiple choice. Only direction we were given was look at the SRA syllabus and if you have queries ask them on the strategy calls. Problem was the strategy calls did not always have the right person on them for the queries raised and they suggested the dreaded email query. The comments are the same regarding the email help, this is a huge let down and I found I wasted a lot of time not getting proper answer. Overall I feel SQE 2 needs to have better structure and help regarding the law aspect. The law you need and how you approach it is different than SQE 1 and barbri needs to recognise this. Some of the lead lecturers did not like the feedback by students but this is feedback of the majority not a minority. More helps is needed for students and support and definitely not by emails.

Wording and complexity of the questions totally different from the exam.

Well constructed course! The material is very clear and well-structured to guide you through the process. There is a good amount of contact time to discuss any queries and enough flexibility to work around a full time job. I found that the tasks properly prepared me for the exams so that I was confident going in, and I scored highly as a result.
