While Barbi tries, it’s hard to give a review above Two Stars. I used Barbi materials exclusively the first time and failed the bar exam, then used their retaker program the second time and failed again. Their materials have a way of making you feel confident and prepared, but not getting a passing score undermines the entire purpose of the study program. Some of their lecture materials contradict written outlines or what is on the bar exam itself, and the material is presented in huge blocks which are difficult to digest under the prescribed lesson time frame. Their system overworks and underteaches. Some of the coaches openly admit that you won’t be able to improve in a particular area and to instead focus on other areas, which is great advice until you realize that mentality can eclipse the entire preparation approach. What is truly disheartening is the amount Barbri charges knowing that a large percentage of students will fail every time the exam is administered. It starts to look more and more like a racket in retrospect.

BARBRI engaged me into learning the law practically with real case scenarios and how to tactfully resolve the issues raised in the fact pattern. Barbri is a solution finder that hits the harmer on the nail's head. On point. It brings out the lawyering confidence in me. Several hours of identifying fact patterns and reasoning the applicable law to resolve the issues raised, is the best of all recent activities. BARBRI's lecturers are explicit and on point. Barbri, did not only teach the law and its applicability, it also teaches the power of procedural awarenes and time sensitivity in courts. It focuses more on how to study effectively to pass the bar exam. BARBRI touches all the bar tested courses and advises on the techniques that make a lawyer effective and successful. BARBRI's MPRE lectures bring me to the real world of handling clients and law practice. The books are practically self-explanatory and reassuring. I like BARBRI.

I like the materials, exercises, and lectures. I was surprised that they did not have a study plan for second-takers of the federal portion of the BAR. So, I could not follow the schedule provided.

I appreciate that the books have been condensed for 2022/2023 to the important bits rather than the excessive information that was present in the 2021/2022 version. However, as Barbri has not offered in-person sessions since 2020, there really is nothing justifying the high cost compared to its competitors. The competitors have launched packages that provide similar value, programming and information at a fraction of the cost. The online system has gone down for over a day during the peak studying hours during both times I've taken the course, which is extremely stressful given that you rely on the online system to generate what tasks to complete each day. The questions are not updated or shuffled; thus, if you are a retaker you may notice that you remember answers and it is incumbent upon you to supplement your assigned practice questions. The Strategies & Insights Webinars can prove helpful if you are struggling to understand the basics, but it really depends on the instructor and the other attendees. The webinars may end up feeling like a waste of time if the instructor is more focused on reading the powerpoint notes to attendees rather than answering substantive questions, helping form strategies, and addressing areas of concerns. Additionally, if the instructor is not good at managing the time and questions and allows some attendees to monopolize the session, you may again feel like you lost valuable time that could rather be spent studying. Still, the practice exam and detailed breakdown is very helpful and allows students to address areas of weakness so that you can pass.

I passed the bar, and about 1% of that could be attributed to Barbri. I'm not exaggerating: about 3 out of the 300 multiple choice questions directly pertained to something I studied with Barbri. Supplemental aids not associated with Barbri, my independent studying based on free resources, and law school was what saved me from failing the bar. The customer service was horrendous. They were completely non-receptive to my feedback. My feedback, by the way, was the fact that the Barbri servers were down so often. Every time this happened, I had no access to any Barbri resources. Ironically, this ended up being beneficial for me because all the studying I did outside of Barbri is what helped me on the bar... so, the best thing Barbri did was have bad enough servers that I had to find other resources to supplement Barbri.

The lectures and MEE essays are very helpful

Great experience with Barbri. I'm a practicing attorney, who moved to a new jurisdiction (Florida) without reciprocity. It had been 30 years exactly since I was in law school. I used Barbri the first time I took the bar, in the 90's, so I felt secure using Barbri again. As expected, it was fantastic.
