A Very thorough review course

The MBEs were good. The statistics were good. The graders were horrible. Some of the videos were atrocious. The coaches were a waste of time and space. Zero help. Overall I would not recommend Barbri.

Barbri helped me practice essays, stay on schedule, and review substantive material. BUT, it did not prepare me for the multiple choice portions. While there are practice multiple choice questions, none are written like the actual exams. This makes it difficult to understand the tone and writing style of the actual exam and affected my ability to perform well (I had to take the bar again because of my low multiple choice scores - all my essays had high pass scores). ALSO, Barbri does not emphasize the multiple choice portions in California because the exam used to be 2 days of essays and 1 day of multiple choice. Now, CA has one day of each, so the multiple choice affects your score much more. Barbri has not adjusted to this change. Go with Adaptibar for multiple choice and even for video review prep. The questions are all from past exams and give real insight on where to study more. The videos are also much more engaging, precise, and broken into more digestible, study-friendly chunks. If I had to do it again, I would go per subject: Adaptibar videos first, 50 Adaptibar Qs, then Barbri videos, and 2 Barbri essays, repeat.

Make Barbri your top priority, follow the recommended program closely and participate in the webinars! Most notably, the group webinars provided much needed encouragement and allayed so much self-doubt. The tips provided during these sessions proved invaluable in achieving success.

The program in general was good and very effective with the combination of lectures and practice when preparing for MBE and FBE. The only downside was that the program was not really designed to prepare for the Florida portion only.

Honestly, Barbri was amazing and I passed on my first try because of it.

Self-study online course was intense, especially for an "older" student who graduated from law school 30+ yrs ago, and hadn't practiced law in 20 yrs. But the program is well worth the cost and the time (high pass on first attempt). The lectures and material were thorough, well-presented and practical, with flexibility for people like me who are not traditional students. Best advice: TRUST THE PROCESS. Even when it's frustrating or you think your old ways of studying would be better. I struggled the first month because I tried to do it "my way." Once I finally embraced the recommended BarBri process and timeline, my studying became much more effective and actually took less time than I had been spending. Also, don't skip the practice essays and other practice tests & quizzes.
