STAY AWAY from Banfield
I live in Gaston SC and have been a client of Banfield for 10 years. I have 3 furbabies that are patients at Banfield, the oldest baby , Bailee, is 10, then Molly, who is 4 and Ellie who is 2. I have always had a problem getting an appointment at Banfield for an in room visit I have always had a problem getting an appointment on Saturday. This is the only day that I can take our girls in for appointments. I have asked to make appointments in advance but the answer is always the same: our schedules do not go out that far and we do not know which doctors will be here. I loved the vets and the staff that were there when I first started bringing Bailee in, as a baby! Everyone was nice and friendly. The vets were great and really treated my baby like she was theirs. Dr. Cuttino was the first vet that we saw and she was fantastic!!! Sadly, she left and we had to start seeing someone else. Then Dr. Jeri Littlefield came and I could have not been happier. She is a kind, friendly, loving doctor and she would take the time to actually SEE my baby and take care of her. Then we got 2 more babies and she cared for each of them with gentleness and love. Then, approx a year or so ago, she too left and it has been hell ever since. The "new" doctors and staff are horrible. We see a different doctor each time and not a one of them knows what is going on. They would constantly get my 3 girls confused with each other, or someone else's pet. Bailee has subluxed patellas and you can definitely feel the crepitus in her legs. She does good and has only had to have occasional Rimidil for pain. She is a sweet humble soul. Molly is a my little timid sweetheart. Sweet and sensitive. She does not do well with strangers and very shaky during her visits. Ellie is my rambuncous girl with a heart of gold. She will kiss you to death, but she is very nervous around stangers and very clingy. Molly has to be given a little sedative before her visits to calm her. She has never had a reaction to any immunizations or medications, yet each time I go to Banfield, they want to know if I have given her Benadryl because she has had reactions in the past.. I have told them that she has never had a reaction, but that she does have Bendadryl in her system. Then theres Ellie. She had recently had an issue with her left hind leg and I needed to have it checked out. I DO NOT DO DROP OFF APPOINTMENTS. I will not leave my girls to be put in a cage until someone feels like doing their job, so for months I refused to take them in because Banfield would not see them in room at all, because of the COVID crap. Now, I work in healthcare and I have to mask and socially distance. I have to work face to face with patients and I take all the necessary precautions. Banfield does not want see in room appointments, they say, because of COVID, but I think the real reason is because they want to see their patients, when they want to see them and not according to appointments. So your beloved pet sits in cage until, THEY chose to do the exams. They want you to drop them off so they can goof off. Now, this brings me to my story. I had 3 drop off appointments on Saturday July 25th. 12:00, 12:15, 12:30. I had, against all I stand for, had decided that my girls needed their visits and Banfield would not consider just letting me sit outside the room while they examined each dog and then let me take them and go. So, I dropped them off inside, and then sat in my car and waited for the staff to call me to come get them. I live about 25 miles from the Banfield on Sunset Blvd in Lexington SC. I just decided to wait the 3 hours that they claimed it would take to see each girl. 3 hours!! It usually only takes 15 - 20 minutes to do each exam, but today it will take nearly an hour for each, and let me remind you again, that I did have scheduled appointments for each. 3 1/2 hours later I went in to check and see how much longer it would be and was told that the doctor was at lunch... at 3:30 in the afternoon..... and that it would be around 6:00pm, when they would be ready. This was not acceptable and I let the assistant know this and I demanded my girls be brought to me. the assistant said she would check again with the doctor and she came back a minute later, telling me that the doctor would have them ready at 4:30. I told her I would be back in at 4:30 and they had better be ready to go. the doctor called me at 4:00 on my phone and told me they were ready to go and he went over the exam results with me on each girl. He told me that Ellies's hind leg had subluxed patellas, as she had had in the past. Now wait a minute, Ellie has NEVER had subluxed patellas. Bailee is the one with subluxed patellas and you can feel and hear it. Ellie has NEVER had a problem until now with her legs and I have moved them and they both move smoothly and with no grinding. So, did the doctor get my girls confused? He ordered Rimidil (doggy tylenol) and gave me instructions on doseage.
