They want to charge $1000-$2000 for dental extractions, on top of the wellness plan I paid for that was $622.00. I called around to other dog dentists, they said that was outrageous. SCAM. I am demanding refund via my credit card company.

"We're sorry your pet passed, but keep paying for another 8 months"
Paid over 400 dollars (with my wellness plan) to have my 14.5 year old dog euthanized, then was told I will just have to keep paying 65 dollars a month until the year is up. Just what any pet owner needs, a monthly reminder/auto payment for your pet that is gone. It's difficult enough to get an appointment and they're telling me my 2 visits this year normally cost 800 dollars whereas one was a yearly check up covered in the plan, and the other was a nothing appointment. I will never spend another dime here once my plan is up.

Company does not deliver.
Our dog is enrolled in the wellness plan. She has been scheduled for spayed for the last 4 or 5 visits. The hospital keeps on postponing the procedure for one reason to another. First, our dog isnt calmed down. So they gave us prescription drug, then second visit they postponed again because prescription was not enough, then the third because they simply had too many clients and our dogs’ bark upsets the other dogs, then we had to re-sched again bec the doctor would be late in coming and they needed to inject something to our dog that only a vet can do. Everytime we get cancelled we had to wait two weeks to a month for the next appointment. I raised my concern that our dog is becoming old enough that she might get her period soon. Then finally we got scheduled on October 9, but then because our dog is already in heat the vet said they will charge another 75USD and that the procedure will cause MORE PAIN and would make recover a little longer. At the worst I never had the chance to speak to our vet since our dogs wellness enrollment last March 2021. Only front desk personnel would give us instructions and explain to us the procedure. What kind of pet owner would allow their dog to go thru extra pain right? In the end, we rescheduled AGAIN and we were told to call them as soon as her period ends. THEN THEY WILL SCHEDULE spaying after three weeks. While this is happening we are being billed $49USD for prevention and wellness which our dog didn’t get. Obviously because she didn’t got spayed ahead of her period. At worst they wont give her a pawdicure nor look at her state when she visited the vet. I hope the somebody from the state licensing office can address this issue, especially that their company has been billing us clients regularly every month despite not looking after our dog. This constitute breach of contract. (This is the service from Banfield Thompson Lane, near Vanderbilt).

The marketing is not what it seems
The marketing is not what it seems. If you try to cancel from inadequate service, they will still make you pay the year out in full. It is a scam without very good veterinary service. They will try to charge you for tests when your animal does not need them or do procedures like nail clipping and try to charge you without asking you in the first place. The vets will also pressure you into getting the optimum wellness plan and make you seem like a bad “dog mom” if you don’t sign up for it. Completely dissatisfied with my experience. It’s a scam.

I sadly said goodbye to my 15 1/2 year…
I sadly said goodbye to my 15 1/2 year old dog a couple of days ago. I am now aware that Banfield will expect me to pay my monthly wellness plain until June 2022. $47 a month. I get to pay to be reminded of my dogs passing every month. " Did you read the contract?" No. Who does? Why would I think that you would keep making me pay for a service you are no longer providing? This was deliberate and Banfield knew what it was doing.

Banfield aventura florida just a horrible place
Banfield Aventura , Florida - nobody cares, nobody return calls.
Just a horrible place
My Yorkie do not like the medications for the bones.
I called to ask for a different medication. I was told that my doctor is not in today. I asked for another doctor, they said - NO you need to talk to your doctor and he will call you tomorrow. Next day the doctor never called. I call Banfield in the evening and asked for any doctor. They put me on hold forever and i just hangup.
Stay away from aventura florida banfield

Not professional (Dresher)
Banfield (Dresher) was recommended to me by a long time client of the North Wales Location. I had recently adopted kittens (brothers) when one of them became extremely ill. I brought him in yesterday as a new patient thinking, I would be given something for worms or told to change his food. Instead the vet came out and told me he had FIPV, he was declining and it was fatal. While I appreciated the doctor explaining the situation, it was heartbreaking to make the best decision for him. I have recently gone through a tough health matter myself and these kittens have been such a comfort. I never imagined something like this happening.
After he was put to sleep, I was a mess and felt rushed to go and check out. The front desk and waiting area was crowded. I had not prepared financially to euthanize my kitten and so I told the tech that I could give her $100 (more than half the bill) and return today with the balance. A woman I was not working with, Alexis, stepped in and said No, but then went to ask a manager. She came right back and loudly said “if you don’t come tomorrow we’re sending you to collections.” I was mortified! I couldn’t even continue to cry over my kitten because I was so embarrassed by her tone and statement. I have never been treated that way and if there was a concern on behalf of the business, there is a way to speak to people with tact and kindness. After being humiliated of course they gave me a “sorry for your loss” as I walked out the door.
I had my own medical situation to handle yesterday, however I returned today, as I said, to cover the balance. The same woman, Alexis, met me at the front desk. After she printed my receipt I went to my car and realized she had given me someone else’s information along with my own. I work in health care, so I don’t know how it works in the vet world, but I’m sure clients don’t want their personal information being handed out to strangers without a care. I returned the documents and left.
I don’t know if other locations have better training of their staff, but I’m not sure if I will continue to use Banfield for my pet care. The loss of my kitten unexpectedly was so hard. My experience with the staff made it worse.
10/18/21 UPDATE:
You can see below a response was added asking me to reach out on Oct 2nd. Well, I emailed the address listed - no one has called or emailed me. After a week, I left my information in their Facebook messenger. I received a quick reply stating a rep for the dresher location would be reaching out…no one has called nor emailed me. This speaks VOLUMES.

If it were possible to give negative…
If it were possible to give negative stars, that would be my option. I have been with Banfield for a very long time with multiple pets. The care has declined consistently over the years and it has become VERY VERY clear that the ONLY thing this company considers is money. My dog has been having significant discomfort with BMs and have taken him 3 times to have them tell me his anal glands are full and they can express for a mere $38. I schedule an appointment to actually see a vet and unless you want to drop off which you can't do until 8:30 am as if no one has to work, it is over a month out to have an in room visit where you can actually talk to a vet. Even then and $100 dollars later - I am having to take him somewhere else that truly cares about my dog.
My daughter's dog is 10 years old and with severe arthritis taking 2 medications to manage pain. His bottle says there are 2 refills left and to use before 01/20/2022. I call to refill and am told it has been over 6 months since he was seen and would need to come in to see vet. I repeat - REFILLS ARE LISTED AS AVAILABLE on the bottle. I ask what was the date of his last visit and it was March 15, 2021 missing the 6 month deadline (which is NOT indicated anywhere) by 2 weeks. Seriously!!! I ask what would the vet do? Answer: Just an exam and possibly bloodwork. He is 10 years old and at the end stage of his life. It is about pain management!!! So when can I bring him in to be seen - well the cycle continues he can be dropped off at 8:30 which only makes him anxious and distressed and requires time off work or I can wait for a month to have an in room appointment.
This is beyond unacceptable care!!!!! It is dedicated to how many times can I get a client to bring their pet in for tests etc. It is dedicated to MONEY.
Not only would I not recommend but would highly suggest anyone who can run to another vet quickly. After many years of being a loyal Banfield client - I will be taking my pets elsewhere and telling everyone I can to avoid this company.
