We have been waiting for our dogs test results for a week now, and I was informed the we will not get the results until the doctor that sent out the test was in the office. This is unacceptable. Our dog may have cancer and waiting a week for results we should have already received by now is asinine. The results should be available for any vet or vet tech to see so we can proceed with what needs to be done for our dog. Unfortunately this is not the only issue we have had with Banfield and we will not be renewing our plan when it comes time. These plans are not worth my dogs life.

Rude staff, poor quality care, bad customer service.
I'm a firm believer in "if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all." However, at this point, I feel it would be wrong not to share my experiences with Banfield. I was a loyal Banfield customer for more than 20 years. I always used the wellness plans and felt satisfied with the services and care of my beloved pets. But in the past two years the service and quality of care has plummeted. Short staffing, staff turnover, over booking, whatever it is....I won't subject my little dogs to this place. They treat your pets like conveyor belt work. They are either unavailable, or too busy to listen. The last two employees I interacted with were so rude, (I'm guessing because they were overwhelmed as they repeatedly mentioned being short staffed) that I simply said "thank you" and walked out without having my pet seen. I don't deserve to be talked to in that way. No one does.

We went in an were quoted 325 for our visit OR a wellness plan for $135 up front. When we wnt to check out, they said the charges were $675. The kept pushing the wellness plan, which of course I took becauseI wasnt about to pay $675 for 2 shots, and a blood exam. Predatory practice. It was a "too bad" scenario

Banfield Pet Hospital in Nesconset
Banfield Pet Hospital in Nesconset, NY. I have been in contact with Banfield, speaking with the Chief of Staff, and was unable to obtain answers or a true concern and apology. She, herself, stated the Doctors are spread thin, and that day she saw 35 animals. How much time is actually being spend on treatment and care in an 8 hour day, when one Doctor sees 35 animals!?!?!?!
My dog was under their care since 2017, and was never diagnosed with a life threatening tumor, even though I maintained her wellness exams, shots and nail trimming etc. She had multiple symptoms, all of which were ignored. After taking her to another Vet, who immediately diagnosed her tumor, just from touching her belly, she went into emergency surgery. The tumor was pushing against all her internal organs, and at the risk of rupturing. The tumor ended up weighing 20 pounds - 20 POUNDS!!!!!!!!! The Vet stated this does not happen overnight and any exam was "Veterinary 101." This dog was suffering a while.
Apparently, you cannot pursue legal action because animals are considered property!!!! That will not stop me from telling people to STAY AWAY FROM BANFIELD everywhere I can!!!!!

Nope. Don't do it.
I loved Banfield at first. The lady who helped me with my cat was super friendly. I was trying to get my kitten spayed, and when they told me about the kitten wellness plan, I was told I could either pay to get her spayed and all the vaccines up front, or I could pay a bit each month and finish in a year. As I am a college student who has been living paycheck to paycheck, I couldn't afford to pay all at once and chose to do the wellness plan.
Fast forward three months. My cat ran away after having a scary situation with a car. I haven't been able to find her since then (it's been six months now), but read online that I wouldn't be able to cancel my wellness plan and so while I checked to make sure the payments were still going through when I got a new card, I kind of just forgot about it.
Fast forward to Sunday, when I went home to my parent's house and got a letter from a DEBT COLLECTOR, who told me I owed over $400 to Banfield because my payments had not gone through. When I signed into my Banfield account, sure enough, the payments have been failing.
I NEVER got an email or anything from Banfield saying that my payments weren't going through. Not one email. Or a call. I had absolutely no idea. So, thanks for that Banfield.

I don't recommend this business for…
I don't recommend this business for many reasons.
I initially brought my puppy to get shots and was invited to join their puppy program. They explained it be a win, win situation and so I joined.
Everything was fine. I got another dog who was a puppy a year later and added her on the plan. Again, everything was fine so I thought.
My first dog was finally 2 years old and no longer a puppy. My puppy program I was on I decided to stop for one dog. I continued for my remaining dog who was still young. So fast forward to my dog needing to be checked out recently.
I've continued paying for her monthly. I come to find out that I haven't been paying for my dog but the other.
We go back and forth and NOW they tell me additional fine print regarding cancellation the puppy program. So they now tell me I owe money to get out of the program for both dogs.
It's funny that they do not explain this in detail when getting you on the program. It's not beneficial and all they want is make you a monthly fee for nothing. Over the entire 2 and half years I've had my dogs, I've only gone there a handful of time.
I'm walking away from this hospital very upset and disappointed.
I warn anyone and everyone to not go to this hospital. They should be happy the remaining customers who come here give them service. Considering they NEVER answer their phones and make you wait over 30 minutes when you are dropping off your animal. They don't have enough staff and expect you to wait and wait to get services.
I will spread the word to every and everyone I know to not go here. Needless to say I am disappointed. I will looking to go elsewhere.

I will be canceling the wellness plans…
I will be canceling the wellness plans of my 2 cats as soon as I can. I've been using Banfield for 12 years and I've just watched the service go downhill. I've had enough. You can't get seen when your pet is having an emergency, you can never get anyone to answer the phone or call you back, and if you are 10 minutes late to a DROP OFF, meaning your pet is going to be seen later in the day by a doctor, you are denied service and forced to reschedule. Mind you, this wasnt the typical preventative appointment. My pet has been ill for a month and this was a follow up to check on her progress. Don't waste your money or time.

Never again
Thank God I didn’t get the opportunity to actually bring my pet in, because who knows what would’ve happened to him. I had a new pet appointment with them that I made 2 weeks prior and the day before I get a call from Lakeisha to confirm an appointment with a different time I had made it, told her it wasn’t possible for me to go at the time, I had my appointment for 8am after telling me a few times that oh thats just the online appointment time you chose not the real appointment time. What the he k does that mean! I even have an email confirmation! So she proceeds to put “Dr. Mosquera” on the line to tell me that the online appointment is just a suggestion but the actual time would be later. I explained to both of these employees that I made an early appointment because I also have a job and they both said that there isn’t anyone even there at 8am. So why the heck did you give me an appointment for 8am!! Ridiculous

Hi Anna - We apologize for your frustration with your online appointment time not being honored, and we'd like to follow up with you about this. Please send us an email to [email protected], so we can look more into this for you.
