I am so extremely disappointed! I have had my
dog on a monthly plan for 13 years. I am afraid
we've come to end of life and Banfield can't see
her for over a week and said take her elsewhere.
Thanks for just taking my money when it was
convenient and profitable for you. Don't give this
company your money or entrust their care for
your pet…they simply don't care.

My Cat Sophie
On June 4, 22 I took my cat into your location in Fort Laud. She had not eaten, was lethargic and had not gone to the bathroom for 2 days. Upon arrival I gave the lady who checked her in all the concerns I had which she wrote down. she was dropped off at 11am (I find it very disturbing that a pet owner cannot accompany their pet to be examined at this establishment) to find out what was wrong with my baby. A little while later I repeated myself to another assistant the same concerns. Around 3pm Dr. Lauren Byrket called me to ask what Sophie’s issues were, I was in shock as Sophie had been in their care since 11am. For the third time I repeated myself. I asked her if Sophie got a urine test This was followed up by the Dr. asking me if I wanted a urine test quoting cost as she went. By this time I was upset because of repetitive questions and the length of time Sophie had spent there with no one checking her out. Banfield ran a bunch of tests including but not limited to roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and so many more, some of which I understand to discern Sophie’s issues, others just to run up the bill. She was also given some medicine to encourage her to eat, intravenous antibiotics etc. Dr. Byrket called again around 4 – 4:30pm with the diagnosis of Sophie, a little anemia, a little tartar, little blood infection, a little pesticide (no pesticides used in my home) in her urine NOTHING TOO CRAZY. The x-rays diagnosed her with a hernia but to confirm they sent the x-rays to a specialist incurring additional fees, her diagnosis was done VIA PHONE CALL. I was told to pick Sophie up before 5pm as they close and She is ready to go home. When I arrived for Sophie I asked about a health plan for my cat. Her assistant said if I get the plan today I pay through the year and if Sophie dies I am still liable for the balance of the plan. I asked at that time if my Sophie was going to die. He did not confirm either way. After paying $972+ I took Sophie home (after checking other vet charges for such tests in the area I can say this establishment charges almost double). Sophie remained in distress all through the weekend as I patiently waited for the results I was promised on Monday. I could no longer see my Sophie suffering so I called Dr. Byrket and she repeated once again Sophie had a hernia. I asked her if they had an ultra sound on their premises and she replied NO THEY DID NOT HAVE AN ULTRASOUND AT THEIR LOCATION. I suggested perhaps a second opinion from another veterinarian would be a good idea. I was so distressed to see my cat suffering so much I immediately called another vet for a second opinion to resolve Sophie’s issues. On Tuesday a local veterinarian made an examination of Sophie in my presence and, after checking her gums he said she had crazy anemia and when he touched her belly she cried in pain. He then stated there was something seriously wrong with her. He asked for the x-rays from Banfield, and upon checking the same x-rays he exclaimed Sophie does not have a hernia she has a large mass accompanied by several other abnormalities. He required an ultrasound to confirm his diagnosis, another $595 to get the answer I needed for Sophie. Next day the diagnosis was grim for my Sophie. She had several masses in her intestines and one that was particularly large between her heart and her esophagus. Her life span at that time was cut extremely short and I made the most painful decision of my life. Sophie’s suffering had to end as there was ABSOLUTELY NO RECOVERING from this. Banfield absolutely refuses to refund a part of my $972, in my opinion for their wrong diagnosis and unnecessary medication. If you love your pet I would suggest if you are contemplating utilizing this Banfield location that you do some homework, compare their prices and Dr’s references and reviews for starters.

Never. Again.
These are not actual vets. No idea how Banfield is still in business, but I will never return here. They couldnt answer simplest puppy questions (I asked about vaccine schedule and food quantity). They should put a percent of what they invest into their marketing + branding into actual animal care. Disgusting!!

My 12 yo lab had severe diarrhea
My 12 yo lab had severe diarrhea. I took him to Banfield off Woolbright in Boynton beach fl.
The tech stated without any tests he has parvo. They tested him. Showed positive. But very faint. I had to wait another hour for them to run to another location to get a test. They stated it was positive. Sent me to an emergency place. Once there a bill for treatment was $3900. Banfield made it sound like he may not make it. So bring the bill for treatment I was unfortunately thinking of the worst option. The Dr was amazing at the hospital. And offered another test. Which was NEGATIVE for parvo!!!
He was merely treated for anxiety. All tests were a great health report. But was still kept overnight
They felt bad in regards to Banfield mistake She adjusted the bill to $1250. Not counting I missed a day of work no pay. This was last feb. Hired a lawyer. After several letters they only offered to pay $250 for the misdiagnosis.
Several letters were sent again. And nothing. I even emailed the president of Banfield. Nothing!!!
Please think before using this hospital. Poor service. Corporate office ignores you. Horrible experience.

They know nothing!
My cat has been puking brown smelly liquid all week, can't seem to stay awake, hinding from everyone, and seems very weak with no energy. Took him to Banfield and they said nothing was wrong and sent him home. Got him home and hes just crying and howling and puking his poor life away. I just dont understand that after $900 the vet techs found nothing wrong. Are these people even real vets? Do more tests! I showed them photos and videos and they were like "Oh, it may just be a blockage" but then they said there was nothing wrong. Mmmmhmm, ok whatever. If my cat dies I will bring his dead body to you and make you run test and tell me what caused his death. And then they can do it for free because it would be their fault he died! Un-freaking-real!

Listen to the other reviews here, stay away!!!
Listen to the other reviews here and do not use Banfield. Most of the locations don’t even have certified veterinarians! I had to call 5 different locations in my city (Atlanta…not small) just to even find a location with a certified vet that could write me a health certificate. The health certificate is “included” in the plan but they charge you $141 to prepare it. What sense does that make??
Not to mention if your pet has an emergency outside of their hours, you will be paying out of pocket to go somewhere else. You are 100% better off going to a CERTIFIED VET and paying for third party insurance.
I will be waiting out my contract which ends in 4 months, otherwise there’s a $900+ fee. Cannot believe how ridiculous working with Banfield has been.
