If I could have left a review without giving a star I would have. Backwater reptiles is the worst place on line to buy healthy animals and they DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR GUARENTEE. They will keep you busy sending you emails until you get tired. I was actually getting emails from CA, but my turtles were shipped from Texas. I have my doubts that this is even an American company.

Prompt customer service when I reached out! Purchased some feeder insects and they arrived alive and well with a modest surplus! Will definitely use again!

They sent me a sick frog with a bacterial infection and organ failure. She was so malnourished when she came in and completely lethargic. I can only imagine how they treat their other animals. Do not buy from them unless you want a sick animal on the brink of death.

Worst waste of time. The reps are slow and obviously dumb and completely waste your time. I heard soon after most of their animals are malnourished damn near dead

I wish I could do 0 stars this place sucks don’t ever order from them they are a scam I ordered a something and they tried to sell me something different and I agreed then they told me it was to cold in my area which is understandable but when I orders a corn snake they asked me If I wanted my “python” to be shipped to the nearest facility when I never even orders one this place is a scam and they are rude :)

I recently ordered a corn snake on Thursday they told me they didn’t have it so they asked me if I wanted another one so I said yes proceed with order and they haven’t gotten back to me I hope I get this snake tomorrow cause I’m tired of waiting and tired of my order getting changed I’ll come back and right a good review once my animal arrives

Note they make no distinction between captive bred, captive born, and farm bred. I ordered a blue tongue skink from them that was labeled 'cb' but it was very clearly wild. Worst of all, when I received it it was horribly sick and needed immediate medical attention. Customer support dodged my requests and blamed me. AVOID.

Worst customer service I've ever encountered!!! I have sent numerous emails regarding my dead tarantula that showed up 4 days after I ordered it. I sent several pictures of my dead tarantula and even tried calling backwater and I got their voice-mail and it was full so I couldn't leave a message. Haven't heard back from them so I won't be doing business with them again and I strongly urge anyone else from dealing with them.
