There were not nearly enough clothes available in my size. I spoke to somebody and thought I had canceled my membership effectively, but had not. Charges kept coming on a credit card that I don’t unfortunately keep a close eye on. I wound up with a huge credit that I could not spend.

I have been using Armoire for well over a year. I am really happy with the quality of clothes that I rent. It takes time to get used to renting clothes, and not purchasing them. I am excited every month when I get my shipment from Armoire, they are great with shipping speed and billing questions. It is like Christmas 12 times a year. I've had a four-item per month subscription with Armoire for about 7 months now, and I'm loving it. The service is a great way to constantly refresh your wardrobe, and it allows you to try more daring styles that you wouldn't normally buy. I also like that renting clothes is more environmentally conscious than buying new clothes. For me, shipping (both receiving and returning) has been quick and seamless. I've used the customer service live chat function on the website multiple times, and the service is always excellent. I also like that if you live in the Seattle area, you can choose to pick up your items in person at the Armoire Go location. When picking up, if you find you don't like one of the items you reserved or it doesn't fit, you can switch it out for a different item on the spot. Love love this service, can't recommend it highly enough!

I paid for my monthly rental and then attempted to put items in my "case". All of the items I attempted to select were unavailable. I had already been charged, yet couldn't select any items. I asked for a refund and was denied. The company did not provide any response to my concern that all of the items I was interested in were not available. I basically paid $119 for clothing rental and received nothing in return. I cancelled my membership and the company did not ever acknowledge that I paid for a service that I didn't receive.

I think it’s either an intentional scam or an inadvertent one. They are so disorganized and unprofessional they received the returned clothing. They showed have the tracking information showing they received it and yet they charged me for the items in the bag. I’d love to know if this is a widespread issue because I met my responsibility of returning the clothing and they are still charging me about $600. Another person told me they did the exact same thing to them and sent her to collections. I photographed everything before they went in the return bags and have tracking showing it was returned but it seems they still can loan out what I returned and charge me for it.

Fun times y’all. I was just charged $199 by Armoire Clothing Rental after having USPS Business pick up my package and confirm that they picked it up on June 10th. I received threatening emails days after thinking I returned them saying I’d be charged $119 for my membership if they didn’t get my packages back. I contacted them and was connected to someone named Nicolette who exchanges about two emails with me a day about filing missing mail reports to find thr packages. Since we only exchange about two emails a day it takes us about a month for me to get a claim filed. Now, it’s July 12th and I’ve been charged $119 for a new membership. Let me run down how horribly the clothing fit, too. I ordered two wrap dresses, neither closed across my 34G chest despite ordering the extra extra larges. I ordered a Diane Von Furstenberg dress that showed off my butt cheeks. I ordered a pair of BB Dakota that had such an unflattering fit that I wanted to throw them in the trash before getting them above my knees. I also got an okay French Connection midi dress. I wore it to my birthday thing in May. But it only was “okay.” Not worth the ridiculous price tag to purchase. Ultimately, I ordered an okay French Connection button-up. To purchase the top it was $54. The top was something like $28 on their website. I should have taken pictures of the horrible fit of all these things, except the French Connection top/dress. I just want my money back. Maybe if I Karen this on enough social media platforms I’ll get my money back. Maybe.

First things first, read their Facebook reviews. The situation I describe below has happened to multiple women. Now for the story... I rented clothes from Armoire after Rent the Runway changed their plans. I had been an unlimited RTR customer for over 3 years and wanted to try something new. I was also 7 months pregnant and needed something to wear for a wedding. The clothes arrived and I wasn’t super impressed with the quality or options. I returned the clothes immediately after the wedding in late October and put in a request to cancel my membership with Armoire given I had nowhere to go - I was finishing my MBA program and all my classes were entirely virtual. Someone from the Armoire team responded to my request to cancel and asked if I’d like to pause my membership for 2 months. Unfortunately, this email went to my spam. After 2 days without any response from me, the woman informed me she placed me on a 2-month pause. To be explicitly clear, I asked to cancel my membership and they paused my membership without my consent. I have the emails to prove this. I had a baby in February so didn’t check credit card statements or anything until a few weeks ago when I realized Armoire had been charging me $119 every month since January (that’s $597) for NO SERVICE provided. I didn’t rent anything for the entire time period they were charging me. I immediately reached out and explained the situation, figuring they’d refund me immediately given the situation. To my surprise, they insisted they have a strict no refunds policy and blamed me for not noticing the charges. To say I was flabbergasted is an understatement. Rent the Runway has it’s faults, but their customer service would never handle things this way. I disputed the charges on AmEx and Armoire disputed my disputes (which is uncommon, according to AmEx), telling AmEx I never returned the clothes I rented in October 2020 (an accusation they’ve never conveyed to me directly). Given the lengths Armoire is willing to go to keep my measly $597, my guess is they’ll be bankrupt within 6-12 months.
