In general, the experience was okay. However, a question I asked about empty pages was not answered correctly. Little things like these mean a lot. The printed copy has empty pages that could have been used. I also missed a typo that I want to fix.

First they wanted me to go back and change the names of people in my memoir. Then names of companies. Then publish as anonymous. A memoir . They were afraid of being sued. These people are dead, in the public domain or from 30 years ago. Got my money back as my husband is a lawyer, otherwise their agreement would have allowed them to keep it. Wasted 6 months. New publisher published book without a question.

As I begin the process of publishing my 5th novel with Archway Publishing, I feel the need to share my thoughts and experiences. I have been so happy with their services. Archway staff is professional, trustworthy and easy to work with - they have a process in place that ensures the writer's vision is met. I have been so pleased with the quality of my first four books. I feel safe in their hands.

I haven't received a royalty check since 2021. However, Archway Publishing has received over $5,000 in sales from my books. Customer service is horrible and haven't been supportive in helping me. The manager is currently on vacation, however I have yet to be paid for my hard work.

My biggest and most significant complaint is that I was unable to “work with one of our designers” as promised in the package I purchased. Having been told by my “concierge” that designers are not “author interfacing”, there was no interaction in order to discuss page design and format (nor cover design) which I am not pleased with at all. I believe that even a brief discussion with a designer would have improved my book with regard to spacing, margins, size of typeface, very basic things which I was unable to visualize and assume are second nature to a designer.

In my opinion after using Archway publishing I have arrived at a dead end. I had some really horrible experiences with their team. They are really expensive with a lot of dead ends. I would never use them again. I am sorry that I fell for all the hype that ensued after my first phone call to them

To write a book is very, very hard and the publishing world has changed a lot. This is a project that costs a lot of time and money. The people at Archway were super patient with me and kind. Their professionalism was superb. It does seem that they are only eager to answer calls or speak to you if they are trying to sell you things (editing or marketing packages for example). I was very happy with the overall product of my book and got great feedback on it which was nice. As far as any help with marketing -expect this to be totally do it yourself! I don’t see how the press releases did anything for example…. I also do not think Archway has the best reputation- many bookstores don’t want to deal with them. If you want to publish a book, and can’t find an agent then yes, go through Archway. They only care about the sales of the services tho. They will not help you sell your book. This is very, very do it yourself and you are very much on your own to figure things out. It was hard to do as a single mother of a three year old with a mom dying of cancer. However, the more time and money you have to create a book—- the easier it will be for you. It cost me a lot of money for childcare and editing services which I hired on my own. My packages was expensive FOr Me $5,000. I don’t know if it was worth it at this point because I found it to be very difficult and expensive. However I also fall at the poverty line.

Publishing through Archway was very expensive. My book was a children's story in need of illustrations. The illustrations provided by Archway were poorly done, and I only had 2 chances to make corrections. My suggested changes were ignored. The drawings did not meet my expectations.
