I really enjoyed the water. The taste was great and Cutomer Support was exceptional. I'm not giving more stars because the water filter kept leaking, it was replaced and still leaking. I did return it all together.

Does a good job purifying but a little tricky to use.

However, I find the filtration system flawed due to the use of plastic tanks. Whether they are BPA-free or not, we now understand that plastic leaches harmful chemicals. Many manufacturers have simply replaced BPA with other equally concerning plastics, which is a major issue. I might have been okay with unfiltered water being stored in plastic, but certainly not the filtered water. This unit is quite expensive, and given that people invest in water filters to remove toxins—including microplastics—it’s frustrating that the final product still comes into contact with plastic. Another issue is the design of the unfiltered water tank. After the filtration process is complete, more than a quarter of the water remains in the tank and has to be manually emptied. This not only leads to unnecessary water waste but also creates extra maintenance work due to limescale buildup. Finally, even the dispensing mechanism relies on plastic components. Given the price and purpose of this system, a complete redesign is needed to eliminate plastic contact where possible. Tip: Be mindful of where you place this unit, especially near heat sources or windows, as exposure to heat can accelerate plastic degradation and potentially affect water quality.

UPDATE: Although the CS of this company is terrible, we have now been using the filter for a bit and I can truly say, this thing does what it says on the tin. The water is clean, tastes crisp and we love it. Just be aware you will have a large amount of "waste water" but we use that to water the plants. I did a lot of research before deciding to buy and still decided to ignore the bad TrustPilot reviews I ordered AquaTru classic, with a tray and a bottle of Minerals. now not a day after ordering I received a message that the minerals are out of stock and I wont get my order till January. Now, I don't necessary need the minerals so I contacted the company to ask them to ship my water filter without the minerals.. and this is where you realise they really dont care. 1-phone lines and Whatsapp shut down over black Friday weekend. when you email them you get a response from an agent, but only to let you know, you will get your order eventually, not reading the request.. not engaging with you just a standard template. and if you look on the website they are still pushing products hard with discounts.. knowing they can not fulfil the orders till 2025.

We have had two Aquatru reverse osmosis systems. We loved Aquatru initially. However, over time, mold appears around the plastic pieces on the tank lids and above the handle area. Most concerning is the spout where the water is released. Quite a bit of mold develops there. The units are not meant to be taken apart so it is impossible to get at the mold to remove it. The first unit we had stopped working after a couple of years. We did not have the mold issue with that unit. But the second unit works well but the black mold makes the water undrinkable.
