A lot of gotchas on the 1000 KW plan
A lot of gotchas on the 1000 KW plan. If you sign up you have to be diligent every day. Gotcha # 1 and #2 :APG&E will not put the number of billing days on the bill, ONLY SERVICE PERIOD. My first two bills I calculated 30 day billing cycle. It was actually 29 days. They tried to catch me under 1000 KW for the month. That’s puts my $125.00 monthly credit in jeopardy. That’s the game. I pay 7.2 cents per Kilowatt hour AT 1000. I would pay 20.1 AND LOSE MY CREDIT UNDER 1000! For each KW AFTER 1000 is is no longer 7.1 but a upward progression (ex), 1151 KW=0.093 cents. At 2000 I would pay 13.2. See this matters in your billing cycle. When they couldn’t catch me under 1000 at 29 days, they waited until 32 days to bill me. Gotcha # 3 : You can go online and view the amount you owe. HOWEVER , you cannot view the bill. It come up blank. I have to call right after a bill has been posted and ask “ What was my meter reading on this bill coming due AND ( the big one) WHEN WAS THE METER READ? I always opt for a paper statement as well, but it comes about 10 or 15 days after billing. The catch and question here is… have I burned enough power while waiting for last months number to come by mail OR do I need to play catch-up with my burn rate for the day’s remaining in the month. Look guys,, if you don’t know you burn rate per day, it’s best to stay away from these GOTCHA CONTRACTS WITH A $250.00 cancel fee. The last GOTCHA….. APG&E play stupid in all things. Customer service can never answer any questions, they say “I don’t know” . FYI, 1000 KW divided by 30 days = 33.333333 KW per day. Without a lot of A/C or Heat , it’s a hard number to hit. Your energy efficient light bulbs won’t cut it 😎. If you decide to “Do business with APG&E ….. Be ready to play a game daily! New customer since 4/2026.
