I asked to have the translation mailed to me. It never arrived.
Response from Apex Translations, Inc.Oct 22, 2021
Dear Ms. Chavez,
I am sorry to hear that you have not received our translation by postal mail. According to our records, it was sent on October 8th to the address provided. Per our agreement, it was sent without the tracking option.
We are uncertain as to why our mailing did not arrive other than to say that lately we have been seeing an increase in delayed deliveries and at least one non-delivery, not counting this one.
We would be more than happy to resend our translation including the notarized certification - this time with the tracking option - at our expense. Please advise if you would like us to do that and confirm your postal address.
Our apologies for this mishap.

Thank you for providing your feedback. Any reviews - good or bad - are valuable to us as they allow us to identify possible issues that we need to correct.
We are very sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction regarding your interaction with Apex. Please allow us to address your points individually:
• Regarding our delivery performance:
We received your email inquiry to translate a relatively small project containing content of personal nature at 10:49 am on Wednesday, November 4.
Our proposal to translate your documents was submitted to you at 12:53 pm on Wednesday, November 4. Our proposal stated a turnaround time of 2-3 business days for this project, not 24-48 hours.
We received your go-ahead at 5:03 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, shortly after the end of business and we started processing the project still on Wednesday. Given the fact that we received the go-ahead after close of business on Wednesday, the clock starts ticking so to speak on the following day. The promised delivery date would thus be no later than Monday, November 9.
We delivered the translated documents at 2:45 pm on Monday, November 9 – within the range of our quoted turnaround time of 2 to 3 business days.
• Regarding the communications aspect:
While your project was being processed, we spoke to you on the phone once and we exchanged a total of 9 e-mails; 5 were sent by us, 4 e-mails originated from you. We felt that no additional communication was needed as we had all the information needed to process your project in accordance to the agreed-upon timeline.
• Regarding your remark about the quality of our translation:
Our management team has reviewed our deliverables and concluded that the translated documents meet or exceed our quality standards. There were some sections of the source documents that were cut off; however, that did not seem to be essential to the information pertaining to the main content of the documents, e.g., parts of the address of the hospital at the top of the documents, or the bullet numbering in one of the files.
Our mission here at Apex is to always strive to meet or exceed cost, quality, and delivery expectations and we try very hard not to disappoint. We are sorry that you feel that we did not meet your expectations.
The Apex team.

Expensive and slow.
I needed a legal document translated from Portuguese to English and submitted a request to three web site companies as well as a local storefront company. The local company was the most expensive so I ruled them out. Of the three online companies two sent me a quote within 24 hours and Apex took a week to respond. Not only was Apex the most expensive and slowest of the three but their proposal was for "Spanish to English". Clearly this company isn't one I want to do business with.

Dear Customer,
We are very sorry for the poor customer service you experienced. We recently upgraded our website and despite our best efforts, there were some bugs in the quotation form which resulted in significant delays in receiving customer inquiries. We caught this programming error today and have corrected it immediately. After having this issue fixed, we had to process quite a few (delayed) inquiries all at once. In the hurry, our project manager erred in the identification of the source language of your document. We sincerely apologize for that.
Given this poor customer experience, we would like to offer the translation you requested at ½ the cost that we quoted. A revised proposal will be issued to you as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Apex Translations Team
