Apartments.comReviews of apartments.com

We went to see an apartment being rented in Gatlinburg . The person trying to rent Todd Trembley stated he would add handicap bars to the bathrooms for my nearly 80 year old husband so he would not slip and fall. When the time came he refused to add the item. After paying the 58.00 charge for application fees. Apartment.com stated they would refund it asked me to fill in a little more information then denied the return of the two $29,00 fees . BE AWARE FOLKS ! I WOULD NEVER APPLY TO AN APARTMENT WHEN YOU CAN"T EVEN TAKE A SHOWER SAFELY IN THE UNIT>

This website sucks. After they make you take dumb words out like "responsible" ( god forbid we make tenants "responsible" for anything) apartments.com will have your listing a "pending" for days then reject your listing for reasons unknown. F Jeff Goldbloom, man. It's not like like any on these rules were stated in an obvious place. Houses are expensive to have sit vacant, these clowns wasting everyone's time and money with their dumb rules and games.

Support team is terrible and website has countless bugs. They are just trying to take your money not help you rent. AVOID this website when applying if you can.

So disappointed in apartments.com. I have never written a negative review before, but I feel compelled because of how badly they have handled my issue. I am a property manager. One critical part of my job is responding to tenants' maintenance requests in a timely manner--all of which is posted on apartments.com. For OVER a month now they have been having a "technical glitch" and have not sent me any of these requests. Have I called about this? Six times. Have I emailed? Five more. What do they say? "We will put in a ticket and you will hear back from us." Well--this is absolutely lip service. They have no plan for action. They do not do the basics of what they say they do. We are switching to zillow. Be warned: apartments.com has super poor customer and technical service!

LOL If you search for "cheap apartments in Tustin" or "affordable apartments in Tustin", apartment.com sends you to listings for $4500.00 per month that are sponsored by the largest corporate apartment companies in So Cal... the site is useless.

Never listed since they insist on publicly listing exact addresses which is a huge security and liability risk. They responded not with a solution but a “Survey” which I skipped and they can read about my subpar experience here, with apparently all the rest of dissatisfied non-customers. I use 5 other media outlets that are better and safer for all.

Update: yesterday, September 8 I spoke to three different people at Apartments.com and got three different answers. They were all really polite, which is great, but meanwhile, my listings are a mess. This morning all the photos were removed except for one on each listing.. I then got an email this morning, telling me something else regarding getting the listing up again. I had to send them screenshots of what I’m truly seeing when I look it up versus what they’re seeing on their end because they’re saying everything is correct but it’s not. I don’t know what happened because I’ve used them for years and the biggest issue I used to have was the fact that your email isn’t disguised when you reply to inquiries, but now the listings are a mess. A prospective tenant was mad that I wouldn’t negotiate the rent to a ridiculous rate so they flagged the unit as a duplicate listing. I’ve had this unit listed for years. It’s not a duplicate. It’s a multifamily with two separate units. I showed Apartments.com proof of this and explained it to the rep and she just kept saying duplicate listings are not allowed. It’s so simple. It’s like she didn’t even listen or read the email . I finally asked to talk to a manager. This is a separate unit with a separate unit number and a separate entrance. Plus, they always try pushing their payment systems for my renters. I tried that when it first came out it was a total nightmare. The renters couldn’t get their money out and were furious with me when I had nothing to do with it. when I contacted Apartments.com they just kept saying it’s a glitch in our system. Now they keep bugging me to use it. There is no way I would ever use their payment systems again. Not to mention I get a ton of spam because they have no way disguising your email address when you reply to a listing inquiry. A company this size not being able to disguise your email to help you avoid Spam is ridiculous. Hopefully the new competition that comes out, we’ll get big enough and more useful and this company will go by the wayside.

Legacy apartments. We want to move due to the lady below us has PTSD from the previous neighbors above her. I’m done with her games. Move me at your expense. She doesn’t need to be living in apartments. She is crazy.
