This website doesn't show the reviews accurately. For example, look up the peartree apartment's review. Its reviews are mostly 1 star negative review, but the overall score of the apartment is 5 stars out of 5????? They're not even trying to hide their malpractice. I'm amazed by their math skill. Average of 1 is 5. Take notes kids.

There was one property I liked but suspected was a scam. Apartments.com took my money and told me agents were vetted. It was a scam they kept my money. They just kept saying ‘just apply for something else’

Believe it or not, I signed the lease on January 26, 2024, and surprisingly, I am still in the process of obtaining my Renters Insurance approval. When signing up for an ESSEX community, it is highly recommended not to bring your own insurance as it will create unnecessary difficulties. I suggest opting for ESSEX-sponsored renters insurance to avoid paying money to multiple vendors. The policy team lacks knowledge about the sign-up process and tends to delay addressing your concerns. Ultimately, it is the tenant's responsibility to ensure that the Renters Insurance is up to date.

There was a particular apartment complex that was particularly horrendous that I needed to warn people about - I wrote a review, but it disappeared both times I put it. I don’t think it is solely because it is negative because I saw other negative ones up there, but it’s still a problem. I tried to reach out to them via they’re advertising email (that’s the only one you can find anywhere on the site to actually directly contact them), but haven’t gotten a response They also are not transparent all that much about how they write their apartments even though they claim to be. For example, they claim my apartment complex is quiet – but I can assure you with neighbors that all think they still live in a frat or a sorority, it is not.

Advertised a rental and removed it due to spam calls. I deactivated the ad. They continue to run the ad. I then logged into my account its no longer on my properties option, yet the ads still up. I emailed the ad to check if id still get a message and sure enough still active days later. I called and got alot of garbage about i cant remove the ad if im a resident or collecting and rent from it. What!!!!?? This website sucks!

TOO MUCH TO COVER wont be able to get to it all. been abused since 2011 ADA violations galore from service dog to wheelchair access. to smoking around my oxygen tanks including employees, and others posing a clear and present danger, interfere with quiet enjoyment, claim there is stove but not for me, they lie and say I don’t want one, they ALWAYS neglect the 5 red tags on both the non existent (11 years) Heat and non existent stove (8 years) they negligent the the co2 ALARM was constantly going off, etc etc, Thurman LCC also constructively evicted me more than once changing my gas to their name etc, changing my locks, leaving bother my broken smashed windows unrepaired for 8 plus months, having security demanded my drivers lic yep no picture ID no repair. before making repairs etc etc. asking me if I was going to cry and call my Momie. The manager would deliberately play with my name and constantly call me Mr. Sucks, despite acting weird and looking high more than once. Asking me about my tuba (i play no instrument) and other bizarre things. said I could NOT use my wheelchair here when I asked where I could I was told t stop being a wise ass. no wooden floors they are what I would call plastic (its in their ad) floors not wood but plastic, no garbage disposal,every time which was multiple I went to the computer center it was closed or I was told by management that it wasn’t working, AND the trouble gets worse. they put enough road blocks impending my progress to getting a service dog I was scared to go outside as I was constantly harassed. security stole my cane and also tried to confiscated my camera and evidence I was collecting. it is a dirty filthy place where my parking lot is covered with bottle caps cigarette butts straws sometimes beer bottles cans etc, very dangerous for a disabled person as well as an able body person to transverses I have injured myself many many times here. My balance is already terrible and I fall perfectly well without help abuse or negligence. Mold issues, etc, just terrible lousy retaliatory and SCARY! .

This seems like an intentional tactic to create a false impression of higher customer satisfaction with the apartments. Practices like this potentially violate Oregon's consumer protection laws which aim to ensure fair and truthful information for renters. It's a deceptive practice and should be corrected.

This landlord-oriented site gives false information and makes it appear that it is legal, normal and usually acceptable for landlords to do at least twice a year inspections, which couldn't be FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH.
