Don't have to say much here. Look at their rating and they still are doing the same sinister unethical and blatantly disregarding level of care that anyone that has the word health care anywhere close to their name should be against the law. I would not be able to sleep at night if I worked for Anthem and I would not want to be anywhere close when their Karma comes around and it will. There is a special place in H!@# for companies like Anthem. There is nothing you can say Anthem to make what you do right so give up and stop ruining peoples lives.

I would give a zero if I could. I was officially diagnosed with Endometriosis when I was 18. I have had multiple surgeries and multiple medicines for it. I am now 45 and in so much pain every day. My periods are out of control. My Dr. wants to do a hysterectomy and Endometriosis removal to help control this disease. Anthem denied it because they feel I do not need it, correction, there team of doctors who has never met me or treated me, feels I do not need it. Apparently, my body, not my choice. They denied it 4 days before the surgery. My Dr. then got documentation and clinical notes together and sent it in to be expedited. At that time, it could take 72 hours, and the surgery is scheduled in 48. Day before and still no decision by this team. I am stressed, in tears, and Anthem could care less. A team of Dr's will determine if the surgery my Dr recommended is medically appropriate to treat a disease that is incredibly painful and impacts my daily life. I do not know if they will make a decision before the surgery or I need to cancel the surgery and just live in pain until it gets to the point, I am in the emergency room.

My baby's All appointments by a optimologist was denied after a few months we didn't notice and we did all their requests like referral from the doctor and then we appealed again for all appointments it still denied

My 77 year old mother who is in Medicaid has Anthem now & they are horrible! Her care manager Karina is either always out of the office-in a meeting or unavailable to help w/ things my mother needs. I’ve called many times to get help & nobody ever returns my calls. The few times I had her care manager on the phone she told me to research Aide agencies for which 1’s take Anthem-aren’t they supposed to know? If you have an option as an elderly person pick a different insurance this company does not care about people-just profit.

My wife desperately needed skilled nursing care. She cannot toilet on her own and can barely walk. Yet Carelon denied her services, claiming that these very real limitations “do not meet medical necessity.” I was stunned. How can a company responsible for patient safety decide that a person who cannot walk or toilet independently does not need skilled care? Their reviewer ignored the recommendations of her medical team and dismissed the realities of her condition. Carelon’s decision wasn’t just wrong — it was dangerous. No family should have to fight this hard for basic, essential care.

there should be negative stars for companies like anthem. My work switched from Cigna to anthem 4 years ago I used to think Cigna sucked god I wish I had Cigna back. Anthem interferes with treatment plans with their pre-approval just remember this process was an invention of insurance companies for the sole purpose of declining payment and holding onto money as long as possible. I just had them decline coverage for Chlorhex GLU 0.12% SOL turns out with no coverage I paid 7.48 so anthem doesn't care how little they decline every cent they can

The doctor prescribed medication for an issue where i have had surgery and medication for over a year and a half. Anthem notified the CareMark one week later that i needed prior authorization. How do you get prior authorization for an existing issue? Why did it take a week for me to be notified?

They think they know better than my doctor and have denied me pain treatment that I desperately need. My doctor is furious! Stay away from Anthem BCBS!
