Cancelation, poor support and unclear info on web site
We had tickets from Istanbul to Cluj-Napoca, and our flight was cancelled just 1.5 days before departure. We were actually getting ready to leave for the airport at that moment, as Istanbul was just a transit city for us. We had to urgently look for an alternative flight, and unfortunately, the airline added even more uncertainty to an already stressful situation. First, they sent us some alternative flights without clearly explaining what they were. The proposed itinerary involved flying from Istanbul to Bucharest and then from Bucharest to Cluj, with a long layover in Bucharest. The information on the website was also unclear about whether we were entitled to a refund in this situation. We tried to contact support by phone, but it was impossible to reach either the Romanian or Turkish office. Eventually, they replied by email after about two hours, but by then we had already missed the opportunity to buy reasonably priced direct flights to Cluj with another airline. As a result, we had to pay around 1,000 RON (approximately $230) extra, simply because the cancellation process was poorly explained and customer support was too slow to respond. Overall, this was a very stressful and disappointing experience. When an airline cancels a flight at such short notice, clear communication and fast customer support are especially important. Unfortunately, we did not receive either.
