This is by far the worst propane company around. They are a complete rip off with lack of customer service. I cancelled service with them for the obvious reasons and when I asked to have them pick up their tank (already removed by new gas co. and placed ready for pick up), they tried charging me almost $300 for picking up their tank. In the process of fighting with them over these ridiculous fees. Stay away from this company.

Very poor communication with the customer
Very poor communication between the customer. I am a new customer and they have not reached out to me one time regarding my new service. I have had to initiate the communication by calling. When it was time for the day for the safety check, there was zero communication other than a window of opportunity which understand. But when the window of opportunity was not met, there was no call to the customer relating the change. I had to call each time and get the new time. It was delayed twice before the technician arrived. I understand that things come up when you start your day in the customer service industry which I work in!!!! But amerigas. has zero communication with the customer. That has been my impression. To this point. The tech Orion arrived at 130 and was very nice. I don’t blame him. I blame the leadership of AmeriGas. Very poor communication. And I am a new customer. First impression is out the window as of now.

They do not have good customer service…
They do not have good customer service I was on the phone to ask about getting service with them the lady just wanted my card number where I lived and asked me what would I be using it for I told her for cooking in for a furnace I wanted to ask her questions she said that yeah we know people have stories but right now I’m needing your information so that way we can keep this going quicker. I have never had gas before I’ve always used electric I’ve moved back to my moms old home she used to take care of everything with gas and I love cooking with gas but I do not recommend calling them they are all about the money my bill came out being $925 that was too much they charge for 4.39 for a gallon that is too much money and me not knowing the information on how much they charge for gas cost would’ve helped me with my questions I wouldn’t had these problems AmeriGas did call me back to answer some questions but she said that she could not help to change the gas prices but that future she could adjust the prices for me the point is I needed help now not in the future I am unemployed with the coronavirus I have two children I am looking for work is very hard Trying to get help and information that you need when it comes to buying any gas from these people do not do it they’re not helpful and they’re about money I was in a quick process to try to get gas just because I have children to cook for. Now that I’m looking at peoples reviews I guess I need to get a lock to put on my gas tank so they do not come out here and refill it without my permission will be putting a lock on my tank

Terrible company - do not use
Terrible service! We are certain my father in law bought the 250 gal. propane tank in 1960+. My husband is 68 y.o. I spoke with Amerigas asking them to look into the matter as a rental fee has been charge every yr. since Amerigas bought out the last company. They said they would get back with me on 3 separate occasions and never did. We only run a gas stove. Fees would be charged if we got a smaller tank. The rental fee will be charged and due the end of July. We have switched to a much much less costly company family owned business. They came and disconnected and took the tank down to the beginning of our drive as there would be additional Amerigas disconnect and pickup from our house plus additional fee to move it down our lane. When I called to cancel I was told there is a $69.99 fee to pick up AND a $149.99 fee for pumping out 125 gallons from a 250 tank. My husband had to place a lock as they kept coming to fill the tank! It is highway robbery not to mention wasteful after they pump it out do they charge someone else so they get double money from us and some poor new person gets our unused propane? Their propane costs almost double what others charge! Whatever you do, DO NOT USE AMERIGAS! They only care about how they can charge fees and get lots of money!

Terrible service
Terrible service. I called because we bought a house where they they have a tank in the ground and charge us monthly rental but have made only one gas delivery in over 3 years, and we have not actually had gas. Rather than offering to deliver soon, the lady yelled at me and said they do not make regularly scheduled deliveries, you must call each time. I also told her I cannot even use the gas fireplace and would appreciate if they would test the fireplace and show us how to turn it on, like TECO does. She got very angry and argumentative and insisted the one time they delivered - my husband signed so they must have already done that. When I explained that the tech never came inside and my husband just signed to accept delivery, she got very mad and refused to speak about it further. Now I have to pay to somehow remove their tank that was here when I bought the house. Such a hassle. They could just try being nice!

In reference to Heritage Propane 3700 515 E Blairsville GA 30512
I initially wrote a good review, but then I learned that they are exactly what is shared all over the web. They are not to be trusted. They made a delivery unjustifiably as caught on camera, even after they made a delivery only several days prior! They told us that they can tell how much is being used from their office! They lied, and told us we could buy the tanks for $450 each, and when I questioned their lack of ethics, I was told they don't sell the tanks! They delivered a new fireplace log unit, but on the way out of my home they told me that the unit was previously owned! There's more but suffice to say BEWARE! DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND INVESTIGATE. When they've been hit with a class action lawsuit and continue to deceive THERE ARE STILL ISSUES.

Amerigas: Gas When We Get Around To It
Bought a new house that had Amerigas service. Called Monday to arrange service. Was told the local office would call me. 5 days later local office hasn't called so I call them. "We need to leak check the tank (even though it is their tank and is currently in use) and then you can order gas" "When is leak check" "Earliest we can do is 7 days from now" Tank is now at 5%. Tomorrow I will not have heat (gets below zero at night), no hot water, no cooking. In 7 days I will THEN be able to order gas and who knows when it will be delivered. So I get to sit in an unheated house, cannot shower or cook, all because Amerigas doesn't feel like acting quickly. As soon as I can find a replacement Amerigas will be in my rear window. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY!

Amerigas broke through a signed, locked gate to lock tanks they do not own...
I do not have an Amerigas account. I tried to establish one, but they claimed my address already had an account. The previous owner of my home had an account, which she closed in April, 2019.
Amerigas came to the home on the day we closed, and filled the LPG tanks, inspected the tanks, and were notified we'd purchased the home and needed a new account.
In September, Amerigas came onto my property and capped off/locked two tanks, one of which they own (had been leased to previous owner), and capped a tank owned by the home.
LET ME REITERATE.
AMERIGAS BROKE INTO A LOCKED GATE, ON WHICH THERE IS A "NO-TRESPASSING SIGN", AND LOCKED OFF LPG TANKS THEY DO NOT OWN OR LEASE. In any realistic world, this would be breaking and entering, with theft as an add-on.
They did not notify us that they were coming, and did not notify us that they'd been.
They *broke* through a locked gate, marked "NO TRESPASSING" in order to do so.
Then, they wanted a $150.00 inspection fee, wanted to charge us for the gas in the tank that the previous owner paid for, and want another $250 to uncap the tank that is privately owned (same tank they capped without permission).
When we threatened them with legal action and going to the BBB, they said "We don't want to do business with you, so 'eff off. " Now we are stuck with locked tanks, can't feed our stove, fireplace, nor spa and it's 30 degrees outside.
These are horrible people. I feel the local manager, Mr. Najarian, is a racist, foul-mouthed pig, on top of being a liar having made multiple claims about the previous owner of our home not having paid her bills (she sent us a copy of the closed account/paid balances), that the tanks were unsafe (Amerigas inspected the tanks when we took ownership), and that the previous owner had not transferred the fuel to us (the previous owner had written a letter Xferring the fuel). He also promised to amend the problem the same day, and it's 2 months past his promise, ergo, a lie.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
