I am a current customer of America's Best. I am out of town and accidentally left replacement lens at home. I tore my only pair of lens. I called a local location and was refused help. I wasn't expecting to be given a trial pair so I could get home but they refused to sell me even a box. I won't be returning. Location is on Forest Drive, Columbia,SC.

This is about address 90 west 225 street store. They really deserve 0 stars. 4 times I've attempted to get contact lenses, appts were rescheduled due to no doctor on site or the person that gives the class didn't come in. Today I was met with a rude person who attempted to speak in Spanish complaining about me after the manger asked her to help me as if I didn't understand what she was saying. I walked off with no contacts because they did not want to help me after I was given an appointment to come in. Before that my son's glasses took over a month to arrive because someone forget to order them. This is the worst store ever. I made a complaint to cooperate let's see what they do!

This was my 2nd year and experience…
This was my 2nd year and experience receiving eye care from America's Best. I've worn contacts for about 50yrs and never experienced such unprofessional customer service and rude interaction from an employee, towards myself the customer. It all started when I signed the paperwork authorizing treatment a month ago. I specifically asked the young girl at the front desk if there was an extra charge for the contact lense exam-(3 x's). There were other employees around who heard me ask, and another woman at the front desk. Some were on there phones, or having conversations with each other. No one bothered to confirm or deny any additional charges might be added. I had a virtual exam, which I later realized wasn't as thorough as having the doctor on sight, because I had issues with blurryness with the temporary lenses. As I was checking out I'm told there's a $40 charge for the contact lense exam-when I was told 3x's there would be no charge. One of the young workers took it upon herself to take charge and address my dissatisfaction with now having to pay when I was told no charge. She was very rude and unprofessional in a number of ways with her responses to me. I had to wait a week longer for the temporary contact lenses, because they didn't have my phone number correct in the system. The girl was adamant that I put the wrong number in the system, and made rude comments to me regarding so when I picked up the samples. I called after a couple days to say I had blurryness in the one eye. I told the rude girl I wanted to see an actual doctor not virtual to resolve the issue. She gave me an appt at another store, which was available sooner than the original store. Today, a half hour before my appt, I get a call from the receptionist telling me their doctor didn't feel comfortable seeing me and the appt was being cancelled. She said it was due to the comments the rude girl put in the notes about me!! Wow!! I guess the customer is never right anymore!! Yet if it wasn't for the customer they wouldn't have a job! I filled a grievance with my ins co. and tomorrow I will be doing so with America's Best corporate office, against the rude girl, the doctor and receptionist at the other store location. Now, in order to get a correct lense reading I'll have to pay out of pocket, because some rude and unprofessional girl blackballed me with America's Best stores. I see now that they only have about a 2.5 rating for customer service satisfaction. I wish I'd looked at the before!

I had a 9:30 appointment and arrived at 9:15. I was taken quickly for the pretest exam. However, there was someone in front of me who presumably had the 9:15 appointment. The eye doctor did not arrive until 9:30 and spent seven minutes putting her belongings away and getting the exam room ready. At that time she took the person who was before me.
It was 9:50 when I was taken for my eye exam.
Spent a total of seven minutes with my appointment.

I paid cash for the exam & glasses then…
I paid cash for the exam & glasses then they submitted a claim to my Insurance company, knowing that I already paid them for the exam and glasses.... I believe that's called insurance fraud. Now for the past 6 months my insurance keeps sending me letters that they want ME to pay back the money that they paid America's Best (AB) for the claims! The fault for this mess falls on both the employees at America's Best in Pleasant Hills, Pa and Aetna Ins. AB shouldn't have made a claim for the service I already paid them for on the day I got the exam!

Worst eye place ever
The eye test was done via telemed type system and felt rushed and minimal. Tried to upsell lots of unneeded options for reading glasses.
When picked up serviced was rushed. Put the glasses on and sservice person simply said "There you go." No checking for proper fit or for accuracy of perscription
(they are not right). The glass are not comfortable on my nose and do not help with reading. Paid over 100 dollars out of pocket and get better results with "dollar store" readers for $1.25. Never go there

I used to love getting my glasses here
I used to love getting my glasses here. I lived in East Northport and I got good exams and I had a good experience. I recently moved and had to go to the Bayshore store on sunrise Highway and I just can’t see clearly out of my glasses. I went back once to have the lenses changed and it’s still not comfortable. They’re not clear. Waste of $300. In a shitty exam from an inexperienced doctor. The second exam was given by the same doctor that gave me the first exam and it just was not a good one. So now I end up wearing my sunglasses all the time because they’re the only ones I can see clearly out of ridiculous.
