Very very unimpressed. The eye doctor himself was great. The way they operate the insurance claims is way bogus. I know exactly what my insurance covers and they literally tried to screw me on cost. 10/10 do not recommend

We had brought a script to America’s Best to be filled pre-surgery for my son. So he didn’t wear them till he had surgery the end of January 2024. So we had a follow up the next day and had to bring his new glasses. So the doctor asked if they were the new glasses without the prisms in them. So I said they are the new ones and shouldn’t have the prisms. Well she checks them out in her machine and what does she find? The prisms are in his new glasses. Unbelievable. So I write to America’s best and they admit it was their mistake and replace his lenses. (1star for that) So as soon as I pick the new lenses up, I head right over to the doctor’s office to have them check to see if the script is correct. This time it is. So this is NOT the 1st time this happened to my family. My oldest son had an eye exam from them and got his glasses and shortly afterwards he started getting headaches daily. So we see the neurologist and he figured out it was the glasses. So I take him back to a different location and they redo the exam and send out for the new glasses. So again shortly after getting his glasses he not only was getting daily headaches. He was now getting dizzy. So the neurologist scheduled a MRI of the brain to see if something else was going on. So MRI comes back clear. So yet again it is the script. So we pay to have an independent ophthalmologist do his exam and we bring the script back to America’s Best. So the say to us this is the last time we will be correcting this script. Unbelievable. Since then we have been bringing them scripts to fill believing they couldn’t mess them up because they were sending the order out. Well NEVER AGAIN. How many of you are walking around with the wrong script? If you do happen to have or go there for glasses. Go have someone else put them on the machine that will read the script. I feel as if they are giving people the wrong script. So that they will need new glasses every year. These parents will NEVER go back to America’s Best. They should be called AMERICA’s WORST. If you value your eyes I would suggest NOT shopping there.

Came in for a walk-in with my daughter. We were the first to arrive. No scheduled appointments walked in after us. My daughter and I were taken back into a room together. They mixed up our charts and had to redo them. My daughter had already completed the glaucoma scan when they discovered this and was waiting for the doctor. They took me out of the room to fix the mix up. Then took the person who said she was there for a walk in before me and put my chart at the back of the line. I confronted the manager and she said she first told me they had a lot of walk-ins. I said I know. I was the first. Then she said it was a scheduled appointment. I said I understand that and you have to take scheduled appointments when they’re scheduled. But that they were the ones who messed up the charts and they already had me in a room and then took me out. The manager said she didn’t appreciate me being hateful.

2 friends raved about AB in Bristol, Ct. Thought I’d try it. My insurance was accepted. Covered my $20 retina exam, ordered my new glasses. Cost was higher than expected so I reviewed the details of my receipt. They added a warranty that I did not want and claimed they could not remove it. 7 months later they send me a bill for $20 for the retina test insurance did not cover. It’s not cool to pull this on your customers. I will not return to AB and if you read the reviews, many others won’t either. Should have read the reviews before trusting AB with my insurance and prescription.

HUGE CANCER tumor not caught at America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, my eye had to BE REMOVED a month later! Went to America's Best Contacts& Eyeglasses on 9/18/2023 for exam and glasses, ALSO paid additional money for FDT and RETINAL IMAGING. They said everything was good and ordered me new glasses. When glasses arrived, still couldn't see well. Went to Michigan eye care provider on 10/16/23 who informed me a had a HUGE CANCER tumor on my eye. University of Michigan appt on 10/18/23 who informed me I had a huge 19mmx19mmx8mm chorodial melanoma tumor on my right eye. Eye was REMOVED on 10/30/23. Life expectancy is SHORT. America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses were PAID to do a job and FAILED to do it properly. I had a detached retina on top of the huge tumor on the back of my eye. My previous few America's Best appointments were 12/08/21, 12/28/19 and many before that.
