I bought a PRS McCarty drop in wiring harness. It arrived clearly used or returned, with missing parts, as compared to the picture. No pot nuts, washers and missing the black switch knob. They emailed a total lie, stating PRS said it's that way and you use your own hardware.

Bought a bass and it had scratches, I don't mind seconds or used or returns but please state that and give me a discount,also it takes far too long,Ive ordered most of my life and it rarely takes more than 10 days here it takes almost a month.I did call them once and got the run around for a good 20 minutes, terrible customer service.their catalog is deceptive,at first you're amazed at the prices $69 for a guitar but if you reread it, its $68 at 6 payments I hate these types of tactics , I don't know how this place even stays in business.

Tried making an order multiple times this week, just to find the next day they had been canceled each time. When I call to resolve issues I was met with customer service that clearly didn’t care if I got my order or not and only wanted to get me off the phone. 5 orders later, and all of my time wasted I received no equipment. Stay far away from this place.

They should change their name to cheap imported musical supply. This "company" should not be in business for many different reasons. I will not recommend them to anyone for making a purchase and most definitely DO NOT work for them PERIOD!

Tried to order an item for $400 using the “No Credit Check” installment option only to be turned down because of no payment history with them. When I contacted the company, they sent me someone else’s account information! I tried again and was told to try an item for $79 or less on a 3 month installment to establish history with their company. Again, denied. I finally called and spoke with someone only to be ran in circles about having no payment history with them. Then, to make it worse, they emailed me and told me to have a friend or relative to apply and for me to pay that friend or relative cash and then they “would consider working with me!” Who does that????? Buyer BEWARE! This company is nothing but a scam and they blatantly LIE to your face. The customer service is absolutely horrendous and they talk to you like a dog! I used zZounds with no issue. The only reason I tried this company was because zZounds didn’t have the item I need in stock. STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAN MUSIC SUPPLY!!

I have never been out down and mistreated by a company like AMS I placed a order and payed for a speaker out right in full and never received a tracking number so I called and learned that my order had been canceled for no reason to this haven’t received one

I am a new customer and was purchasing a very modest production bundle (around $400 US). I used their split into 4 payment plan. The order was cancelled stating "cancelled by customer". When I inquired I received this: Corporate cancelled the order because they won't risk that amount on that plan size when you have had no other history with us. We would advise doing a lower amount on a 3 payment plan & pay it off over 3 months then place another low cost order on a 3 payment plan and pay that off over 3 months then once you have 2 completed plans paid monthly on time and paid in full then you can try for higher amounts on higher plans after that and will likely be approved. I could have easily placed it on another card or payment method but they didn't even bother contacting me. I spend a lot of money each year on gear, I guess AMW just doesn't want my business.

Stay far far away. In case you didn't know zZounds and AMS are the same company. That's not a problem. The problem is they are flat out lying to people and their site is full of false advertisement. Do not believe the "No Credit Check" payment plan. Both companies absolutely do perform a hard inquiry on your credit report. So get ready for it. It turns out the "No Credit Check" is just a scam to get you to buy something. They also say that everyone is pre-approved...Not!....They pick and choose. Most people get disqualified from their report which they blatantly lie to you about when they say there is no credit check. I had just paid everything off on my report to where I owe nothing. My score had went up about 75 points. Then these scammers add a hard inquiry to bring it down. So if you don't have good credit then don't waste your time. I can tell you from experience that they absolutely do perform a credit check whether your order total is $200 or $2000. I'm very disappointed in the blatant false advertisement of zZounds and American Musical Supply. I'm not disappointed because I wasn't approved. I'm disappointed that they lied about the credit check after I worked so hard to bring my score back up! It probably worked out for the best though. After seeing their reviews I'm kind of glad they cancelled my order. There's no telling what kind of junk I would have gotten.
