The name tags and whispers were great. It would have served the team better to have these tools at the beginning of the tour. It would have also been beneficial to have some type of orientation at the beginning of the trip. The security, buses, hotels and services exceeded expectation with the exception of Wifi in Egypt and my baggage was not delivered to my room in Jerusalem. The food in Egypt was not as inviting in as other hotels. The Jordan guide followed up with notes to customers which exceeded expectations. The Jordan trip was to short. The free day should be accompanied with directions and suggestions of church services. We missed an opportunity to visit a live service because we did not research and the hotel staff was unable to provide information .the bus ride to the airport was confusion as our guide was on another bus and our people were split as we we were unclear without the guide which bus to take. The AIT person in the airport was confusing so we had to check with the employees for clarity. The guides and opportunity to visit locations was exceptional. I had been twice with EO and only went on this trip to visit Egypt and accompany a friend. Please note this is not a review of the guides.

AIT is a middle of the road provider; customer service is average and much less than I expected. The US agent from whom I bought the package was responsive but her colleague who does the backroom opearations like payments I found pushy and off putting. The Tour Guide made a big deal of tips beginning day ONE. I do not want to sit on a bus for three hours when I am perfectly willing to pay for a taxi to take me to the hotel--poor customer service! At 39 people, Roots of Your Faith tour, is acceptable to middle class traveller who have not travelled much. However, if you are an experienced traveller, the only reason to go on this tour is price. The hotels, all part of the same chain, are old; most of the rooms have not been refurbished in years. Toilets leak and do not get fixed when reported. Showers are ill designed wetting the entire bathroom. The buffet breakfasts and dinners get old very fast; same food. Too much time for shopping at PRE SELECTED SHOPS where guide gets special considerations. Stops are jewish sites are LONG; rush through Christian sites. Too much emphasis on tips beginning with bellboys, driver and guide urging participatns to give a certain amount and to place their names on envelopes to cross off when you have given the tip. If you are on a fixed budget and $1750 is affordable, ok; but, if you have flexibility, I encourage you to choose a tour company that allows for a smaller tour of maximum 25 people and stays at newer hotels that are not part of a chain. AIT is MASS tourism; and, you are treated as part of the masses. Customer service is not responsive to individual demands. For example, if you are tired and want to go back to hotel, guide frowns on it and tries to keep you on tour even when you have bluntly stated you want to go back to hotel. Another example: I requested Almond milk becasue of allergies to dairy. Despite asking at every stop, only one hotel provided the almond milk. If you are expecting individualized service, go with a higher end tour provider than AIT.

Herrods TLV bathrooms had mold in bath, had to change rooms. AC was not cold. The only 5 star hotels were at the Dead Sea, Amman & Petra. Both tour guides were good. Bus in Jordan was old with lots of old loose carpet & there was not enough leg room. The driver drove way too fast & could not speak english. My name was spelt wrong. Israeli driver who picked us up from the border & brought us back to airport was very rude not only to me but to two other travelers. It was very tiring waking up at 6am every day.
