Check reviews from their old company before covid (New York Next). They changed because of bad reviews before and during covid.
Be aware!
I paid 3 months + deposit and they didn‘t even repay the deposit.

Hi Marco,
We take all feedback and matters regarding security deposits very seriously.
After a thorough review of our records, we have no record of any past or current reservation, lease, or account under your name. To be completely clear, you have never stayed with Alohause.
Furthermore, the business you referenced, "New York Next," is a completely separate entity that is entirely unrelated to Alohause. In fact, Alohause did not even exist during the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you believe there has been a misunderstanding or booked under a different name, please contact our team directly at [email protected] with your full name, lease agreement details, or booking reference so we can verify your claim right away.
Best regards,
The Alohause Team

SCAM COMPANY - DO NOT RENT WITH ALOHAUSE
This is the worst place I have EVER lived. DO NOT LIVE HERE IT IS A SCAM!!! Lived in one of their buildings in New York for the summer, the process for actually getting the apartment was simple and easy and I thought I had found a great place to live. I was, however, sussed out by a couple things throughout the setup process. For one, they wanted to charge us $75 to tour the apartment in person (which is illegal in NYC) and they also charged us $500 each to 'secure the apartment' (just another cash grab) - it's also not legal to charge more than $20 for an application fee under NY state law. As soon as I moved in, things continued to get worse. I had found that the hot water did not work. This was fixed, but then it happened again, 6 times over the summer (even though we were paying an extra fee for utilities). Each time that it happened, Alohause would ignore our emails for a couple days and then say they are trying their best but it is technically "building management's responsibility". However, we would ask for the building management's contact so that we could contact them directly and they refused to do so, and one of the workers came in once and admitted that alohause did not believe that the hot water wasn't working which is why it was not being fixed immediately. The last time that it happened it was out for 7 days, we emailed them multiple times everyday and it was not fixed until building management themselves contacted us directly. On top of this, there were 2 instances where carbon monoxide was detected in our building - both times the alarm went off at 4am and we had to call 911 for the fire department to come. The firefighter said that they have been coming to this property for ~8 years for the same issue, so it is quite baffling that alohause is continuing to rent out 3 units in this building when its clearly not safe to live there. Finally, while living there, there were ALWAYS people sitting or even sleeping on the front door step.
all in all, DO NOT LIVE HERE - I wish I had saw more reviews on this company before I decided to rent with them because it is very clearly a scam

Hi Brie,
We take all feedback seriously, but we must firmly address the serious inaccuracies in your review. Alohause is a verified housing provider, and labeling our services as a scam is entirely incorrect and misleading.
To clarify the facts regarding your stay and our operations:
1. All booking fees, including our service fee, are clearly disclosed and outlined before any agreement is signed. Furthermore, we never charge a fee for physical tours, as in-person tours are simply not part of our standard process.
2. We sincerely regret the frustration caused by the hot water disruptions. Like any residential building, boilers can unfortunately experience unexpected mechanical failures. Our team, alongside building management, worked diligently to restore service as quickly as possible each time.
3. Our team never ignored your emails. We maintained consistent communication to provide necessary updates while actively troubleshooting the issue. Regarding property visits, we strictly adhere to a 24-hour advance notice policy for our residents, unless an urgent emergency requires immediate entry to ensure safety.
While we understand that maintenance issues are highly inconvenient, our team always acts in good faith to resolve them as swiftly as possible. We are truly sorry that our resolution process did not meet your expectations, but we stand by the integrity of our service and our commitment to our tenats.
Warmly,
The Alohause Team

SCAM
Very unprofessional. Looks really nice on the website but when I moved in the bed sheets are wet and lots of broken furniture, stove, etc. Moved out for a few months and I still haven't received my deposit. It's basically a scam.

Hi Angelina,
We are deeply concerned to hear about your experience, as this does not reflect our standard of service. Alohause is a fully legitimate company, and we want to assure you that we do not withhold security deposits unfairly.
We would appreciate the opportunity to address your points:
1. We maintain strict cleaning and maintenance protocols before any resident moves in. We sincerely apologize if the condition of some of them don´t reach your expectations. Our support team is always available to resolve such issues immediately when reported at the start of a stay.
2. The processing and return of security deposits follow specific timelines outlined in our lease agreements to allow for full property inspections and bank processing. If you have been moved out andhave not received your funds, we want to investigate this and resolve it for you right away.
Please reach out to our support team directly at [email protected] with your full name and apartment details so we can track your refund.
Sincerely,
The Alohause Team
