Impossible to cancel your appointment. Will charge you 100$ even if you request to cancel over 24 hours prior to the appointment. Refuses to refund. Terrible customer service. Trying to scam anyone making appointments

Not good service
I have decided to end my care with Allara after speaking with two different doctors. I feel that my concerns have not been adequately investigated, particularly regarding my persistently elevated testosterone, abnormal cortisol readings, and the significant changes in my body that prompted me to seek answers in the first place.
I have repeatedly explained my intolerance to medications such as metformin and GLP-1 medications, yet the focus continues to be on prescribing treatments I have already struggled to tolerate rather than adequately investigating the underlying cause of my symptoms.
I have repeatedly expressed my concern about high cortisol. They were attempting to treat my slightly elevated testosterone and PCOS instead. Even when they were told that these treatments did not work for me in the past. My frustration with these doctors not addressing my high cortisol concerns lead me to have to investigate on my own. I ordered my own PM saliva tests which showed above average cortisol at night. My doctor only tested my AM cortisol and did not bother to order a PM cortisol test to check for a more serious cortisol pattern. I could have something serious like Cushing's and these doctors are not listening to me.
I am not comfortable continuing a treatment approach that focuses on managing symptoms without sufficiently investigating the possibility of an underlying endocrine disorder, including cortisol dysregulation or Cushing syndrome. I felt like they were just trying to prescribe drugs before knowing the root cause of my symptoms.
I need a provider who will take my concerns seriously, pursue appropriate diagnostic testing, and help coordinate the next steps based on the findings. I no longer feel confident that I can receive that level of care through this business.

BEWARE bait & switch lied about insurance approval
BEWARE! They bait and switch and LIE about healthcare approval. I saw their ad on Instagram and went through their onboarding screening where they specifically said my United in TX was approved. I set up my initial call with a doctor describing my symptoms and they said to schedule labs. This was essentially a consult sales call. I then get a EOB from United saying they will not cover this visit at all and owe $425. I was furious and messaged Allara and now they are saying that my insurance is "in-network" but that the visits are not covered. I would have never scheduled if they had come out the gate and said it would be out of pocket even with insurance, but thy lied and said it would be a regular $45 co-pay. I feel completely preyed on and misled and if you go on Reddit you will see many women that had the exact same experience. They responded by saying they'd give me a discount for future visits for $125. Unreal. I did like the Dr. but cancelled all future appointments which I was really excited for making progress on my health. I just read that they have an arbitration clause waiving class action as well otherwise I would be absolutely jumping on that.

Shady billing practices; AVOID
They are a scam. First they made me input my insurance and told me I didn’t have a copay at all. Then, they turned around and set me up with a provider who didn’t take my insurance. Then after finding one that supposedly did, they couldn’t find a single second provider for me to be seen. So the whole membership was POINTLESS. Then, they randomly invoiced me months later for a $75 fee because now they claim they don’t take my insurance. I regret ever trying them out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Customer service was terrible and they did not seem knowledgeable at all. I would not recommend Allara to even my worst enemy.

I do not recommend this telehealth…
I do not recommend this telehealth service. They offered the first appointment as ($0) free consultation, however charge my card over a month later $40 for the co-pay. That was not approved not disclosed.
To make it even worse, the doctor barley gave me any information on the GLP-1 compound verses Tirzepatide. Nor could they provide me ANY pricing. I was told the pharmacy would disclose this information to me, and guess what.... The pharmacy wasnt able to fill the script until 3 weeks later costing over $500 for a two week supply. I did not pick up the meds due to the high cost & the feeling of being tricked.
Then, I noticed a pending charge on my card 2 days ago for the telehealth visit..... I called and asked about it, and was told that the charge was accurate and that its common sense for a video call doctors visit to cost money. Okay then why was I marketed "FREE CONSULTATION?" That's false advertisment.

Five Weeks of Hidden Charges, Weeks of Unanswered Concerns
Update – October 9, 2026:
Nearly a week later, I finally received another generic response that, once again, completely ignores the concerns I’ve repeatedly raised.
This is now yet another variation of the previous three offers, all somehow arriving at the exact same $300 total. Different explanations, different payment arrangements, different promotional offers, but ultimately the same amount.
At no point has Allara meaningfully addressed why I was allowed to accumulate charges for over five weeks while my billing portal displayed a $0 balance and indicated my next billing date was July 2027.
I have never refused to pay for medical care. I simply expected the opportunity to make an informed financial decision BEFORE accumulating hundreds of dollars in charges.
Instead, I’ve spent weeks explaining the same issue to multiple representatives, only to receive recycled responses about pricing.
Meanwhile, I remain unable to schedule an appointment with my medical provider, a concern they continue to ignore.
To top it off, my patient portal conversations have been closed, and I received a satisfaction survey asking how well my issue was resolved.
Apparently, Allara considers repeatedly explaining how much money they want a resolution. I consider it a complete failure to address the actual problem.
Excellent medical providers. Absolutely exhausting administrative experience.
10/13/26 Update: Allara Finally Took Steps Toward a Resolution
I wanted to update my original review to acknowledge Liz from Allara, who took the time to address my ongoing billing concerns.
After weeks of frustration, conflicting information, and unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue, Liz helped work toward a reasonable solution. She offered a payment arrangement for the outstanding balance, a complimentary month of care, and a path forward that would allow me to continue seeing my provider.
What I appreciated most was that Liz approached the situation with a willingness to find a solution rather than simply repeating the same billing policies I’d been hearing for weeks.
While my original concerns about Allara’s billing transparency and communication remain valid, I believe it’s equally important to recognize when someone makes a genuine effort to correct a frustrating situation.
Thank you, Liz, for listening, following through, and helping restore some of my confidence in Allara.

Admin and Billing Headache
I logged into my scheduled appointment on time, remained in the provided Zoom for 22 minutes, and no provider appeared. I called Allara immediately afterward. Their representative told me the problem was technical and told me I would not be charged. Allara subsequently continued sending me notices saying I was a no-show and threatening a $100 fee. I decided not to pursue care with them because I no longer trusted their administrative and billing practices.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. They did not clearly state my insurance is not accepted before scheduling an appointment.
They still deducted fees when I requested cancelation.
BEWARE of this company. DO NOT TRUST ALLARA. Their Practices of not being transparent to clients is unacceptable!
