Before joining Allara, I felt like I was rapidly losing control of my body after coming off of birth control and receiving my PCOS diagnosis. My gynecologist and primary doctor showed very limited knowledge of the condition which made me feel like I had to assume full responsibility of my health alone. I came across Allara on social media and decided to give it a try. First, Dr. Dern ordered bloodwork and together we realized that I do in fact experience insulin resistance and we were able to adjust medications (metformin) appropriately. And then I started working with Jenna (my Allara nutritionist) to understand how PCOS affects my metabolism and how I combat those side affects with my nutrition. I am finally taking back control of body and with their help, I'm not doing it alone. My numbers in my last bloodwork are going down to within normal range, I've started losing weight, food noise has subsided and eating healthier has become easier and more sustainable. I feel better both physically and emotionally. I am extremely thankful for Allara!
