I would give ZERO stars, do not ever use this telehealth service. First I was told by an individual that I was covered by my insurance and would only have to pay $30. Now I randomly receive an invoice for $125 saying I’m not covered so I call again telling them I was lied to so they tell me they will do for just $50. Now I was randomly charged without my authorization for $125 so I’ve been charged for $175!!!! And nobody is answering the phones now or my emails. I’m so pissed off and will be disputing with my bank and telling everyone I know to never use this service.

Money Grabbers Fad
This is a business who wants to make money. There is a bias to only look at specific conditions and this is a mistake. They want you to see a dietician before you have results.... because that is more to charge for. If healthcare in general are restaurants, this is the fast food.

Anything but convenient
My experience with Allara was anything but convenient. I really gave them a chance too, and practiced extreme patience. I was in a situation where I was desperate for some answers about my thyroid health late Dec 2025. My first appointment was scheduled easily and quickly and the provider was nice. She put me on a medication and ordered more lab work (I’ve been tracking my own lab work for years). However, since then, it’s been nothing but frustration. I committed the horrendous crime of moving to a different state and it was downhill from there. I have been asking since Jan 6th to transfer my care to a new provider licensed in my new state. It’s now March26th and I’m out of medication. They’ve sent me 3 links (after multiple messages and follow ups from me) “to schedule my transfer of care” and none of them showed any appointments / they were empty links, which I communicated to the “concierge” team. It’s dragged out so long and strike 3 lead to me asking them to close my account because I’ll be going to literally any other telehealth company. I joined Allara for convenience during my move (ha ha)…

Poor experience, no follow-through
I had a great visit with a provider who said that she would follow up with a prescription refill after she obtained my lab results. Despite repeated follow ups, I received no response. The Concierge is the only point of contact, and I received only a series of messages indicating that they have reached out to my provider. They would not provide any additional information (not even a status update), and I am now left with no alternative but to pay for a visit for the same issue at another provider. I appreciate the response, but again… Having to go through the concierge to reach my provider was ineffective.

DO NOT SIGN UP!!
DO NOT SIGN UP - they advertise that their services are covered by most insurances and so l booked three appointments (and was never once told my insurance "did not cover a nutritionist" for an ENTIRE month even though they ran my insurance) and then I
canceled the 4th one and they messaged me to book again and I did not and ONLY AFTER I completely stopped with the booking, did they send three invoices that totaled up to $325 like EXCUSE ME. Nope. Do not sign up for this service. Do not be scammed like I was.

I was very disappointed with Allara
I was very disappointed with Allara. The provider I got, pushed birthcontrol and was hostile when I asked any questions. She did not take what I said about my period struggles seriously. Her first reaction was to turn to medication when it was advertised to me that medication would not be the first option. Nothing else was explored by my provider and I was severely disappointed to have received such false advertising.

My experience was very frustrating
My experience was very frustrating. I was seeing Melissa Wright and initially felt very seen and heard. She wanted to look into my labwork and explore where the issues were.
The problems started when she referred me to Heme On Call - a hematology office in Florida. She told me she trusted them and they could do a virtual telehealth call with me from Florida to Texas. They ordered a bloodtest for me and she encouraged me to do it. I did it. I ended up with a $980 bill for a single blood test. We've gone in circles to try to figure out who is to blame - Heme On Call, Labcorp, insurance? Everyone blames each other, but either way, I got my final notice that I owe $1000 or I go to collections.
I wish they would be more mindful of places they recommend patients to.
From there, it was discovered I'd need to have gallbladder removal surgery.
Melissa kept telling me that with my previous sleep apnea diagnosis, she could submit for me to be on Tirzepatide and my insurance should cover it.
It was like a carrot dangled in front of me as we had no less than 5 separate calls to discuss her sending the request/approval for me to be on tirzepatide. Seriously, why do we need to do so many meetings on one thing? It felt like a money grab to be honest.
I understand that due to my surgery, she wanted to make sure that my gastroenterologist was okay with me being on this medication. However, she had me ask for their approval. I verbally received it. We had a meeting to discuss me needing their approval. Another meeting for me to tell her that they gave approval. Another meeting where she said that my confirmation didn't suffice and she needs the offices of my surgeon and doctor to fill out forms confirming they said that. Another meeting to let me know she saw that. Months went on. Guess how many times she sent over the request for my script? Zero.
However, she was so incredibly personable and nice and seemed understanding, I kept going back. I don't know why.
My final straw was when I told her I thought the issue could potentially be with my thyroid. I understand she is the doctor and I am not. However, it was very dismaying when she told me that I had no issues with my thyroid and she would know. Later that month, I was in a bad car accident (after surgery) and had to go to the ER. They did a full body CT scan to ensure I didn't have internal damage. In that CT scan, it was discovered that there was something on my thyroid that seemed concerning. The ER had me do an ultrasound on my thyroid to see if it needed to be biopsied. It was determined that whatever was on my thyroid wasn't large enough to be biopsied. However, I need to have an ultrasound done on my thyroid every 3 years for the rest of my life. I still don't know what the issue was. But being told bluntly that I didn't have any issues there to being told I have to get it checked for life was my final straw.
I feel like I spent a bunch of money here to end up with a $1000 blood test bill because they referred me to a practice in Florida that they claimed to trust, but shouldn't.
It was a bad use of my time and it truly pains me to write this, but as I pay the LabCorp bill, I reflect on my months and many many appointments here with no resolution and more questions than answers.

I was quite disappointed with this…
I was quite disappointed with this experience. The provider I was matched with seemed annoyed to be talking to me and, didn't ask me any questions and literally spoke to me for 10 minutes out of 30 minutes we had scheduled and I got charged $80 for this. Again our second call was minimal and charged another $80 for a 10-minute phone call. All they did was refer me out to other people, neurology, therapy, physical therapy, nutrition. Not helpful at all.
