Poorly designed member portal and customer service practices
I recently signed up for annual membership and couldn't even access my dashboard to schedule an appointment due to not being able to bypass the insurance information (I have an HSA card no insurance plan). Then I have to email someone to wait for an answer on how to fix this. Not impressed.

If you have CareFirst don’t bother
If you have CareFirst, don’t even bother. They only have one dietician that takes that insurance and they have zero availability. I was told that I could see another dietitian but for the out of pocket rate. The plan was exactly the same as just going to my regular gynecologist because all the gynecologist at Allara did was give me a list of medications to go through and try, I never was even able to get any holistic advice because I couldn’t see the dietitian. Waste of hundreds of dollars and time.

Fraudulent
I signed up for 6 months. Took off work for a virtual appt. The link in the text kept taking me to the dashboard of Allara, not the appt. It wasn’t until I opened the link in the email that it actually took me to zoom. It was NINE minutes past my appt time. I am a medical provider and I’ve never heard of any facility giving less than 10 mins grace period minimum. At Kaiser, we see patients who come 4 hours late if necessary. I am being charged $50 no show fee because their link didn’t work. I am reporting this charge as fraudulent to my bank.

Platform is very frustrating
I signed up for an information meeting before committing to the program. I was told in that first meeting that Allara has helped people come off of their thyroid medication. I was super excited to hear this as I have wanted to come off of my thyroid medication. I was also told that they take my insurance which was great. I scheduled my appointment with an endocrinologist. My appointment with my physician was excellent, but she told me that with my condition, I could probably not come off of thyroid medication. I was disappointed that I was told this could be a possibility in my intake session. I don't think the intake people should have told me that this was a possibility when it wasn't.
My endocrinologist ordered labs and I went to have them done. This is when everything went downhill. After getting my labs done, I received a message that Allara actually doesn't accept my insurance. I didn't understand and started to receive a bunch of messages from different people about this. There were so many message threads open that I couldn't keep track of all of them. They gave me an outrageous cash price. I was so upset because I had already seen the physician and was excited to work with her. They did give me one free month for my troubles so I booked a follow up appointment with the doctor. The links to join the follow up appointment didn't work. I couldn't join. I then received a message that I was a no-show and was going to be charged a fee. I wasn't a no-show, no one was in the meeting room to let me in. They then said that I had the wrong link to join. I was given another appointment time, but this time, there was no button to join the meeting on my computer. All the going back and forth was exhausting because different people kept answering me in different message threads. I got so frustrated with this, that I just ended up canceling my subscription.
The information people at the beginning gave me the wrong information about my thyroid medication, the platform gave me the wrong information about my insurance and I was never able to see my doctor for my follow up medical appointment because the links didn't work and I never had a button to join. It was also very frustrating to receive so many messages from different people in different conversations in my messages.
I would recommend educating the intake team to not suggest things that aren't correct. I would also recommend telling patients the correct insurance information. Lastly, for this being a telemedicine platform, I would think the technology would be one of the most important things. Having a message system with multiple people answering questions is very confusing. Also, I would think the links and buttons to join the appointment would be very important.
I loved my physician, but everything else needs an overall. You can't run a medical platform by giving patients wrong information and not having the technology to connect to your doctor's appointments. Please do better. Women have gotten the short end of the stick for so long and your platform is not making it better.

Doctor sent me incomplete labs
Doctor sent me incomplete labs. Almost had to wait another month and a half to get them done again. They are all impossible to get a hold of because they just have you on an endless loop of different AI bots. They boast to care about women and clearly don't. I tried them because I was desperate and really regret it.

Will take your money and ghost you.
After having an appointment with a doctor and having a bunch of blood work done, I was told that my insurance wasn't accepted. My insurance was the same as when I enrolled, if it was a problem, it should have been disclosed up front. Instead, I had an appointment, had a bunch of blood work done which I will be paying for, and was then ghosted. After weeks, I was told that my insurance wasn't accepted but I could do a cash pay option that was over three times the price. Again, the company knew what my insurance was, so if it was a problem, it should have been disclosed before I started the process. It is shady and a money grab.
