Paid $725 for annual contract that promised to cover our entire home and all appliances in it. I've had American Home Shield on 2 homes for a total of about 10 years. Moved to a new state and decided to give these guys a try. Filed our first service request for our stove that stopped working the first week of November. AFC ignored it for almost 2 weeks. Called to see what's what and AFC said they didn't have a contractor or service company to come evaluate the problem. Waited another week. Still no communication from AFC. Reached out again and was told they still had no one and if we wanted a technician, we had to do all the legwork to find and schedule a tech ourselves and had to pay the tech for the service call out of pocket too. Ridiculous because we Googled it, found a company within about ten seconds and scheduled them for the next day. Clearly AFC never even looked. Tech told us the problem was a switch that went out and it's no longer manufactured so AFC should replace. More weeks passed and never heard from AFC. On December 28 - nearly 2 months after we filed the servie request - I emailed AFC rep and asked what was going on. He never responded (shocker) but the next morning I got an automated email from AFC that they had reached a resolution. Called and was told they weren't going to cover anything because the corner of the cooktop had a crack in it. Refused to acknowledge the electric switch was the culprit and refused to pay ANYTHING on a technicality. Took them 2 months of me badgering them for answers for them to even tell us. And during this whole time we kept getting emails saying it's time to renew our "coverage". TOTALLY WORTHLESS "COVERAGE" TOTALLY WORTHLESS "HOME WARRANTY" TOTALLY WORTHLESS COMPANY Do yourself a favor. Save yourself $725 a year and a ton of frustration and just find another home warranty company. ANY OTHER home warranty company.

Promptly handled my claim. Immediately dispatched a repair technician. Problem fixed quickly without the slightest delay or hassle.

After the service is completed you receive too many calls, texts and emails. You need to stop this. One call or text will do it. The repair company is awesome. They do the repairs quickly and are very knowledgeable. I am very happy with them.

It will give you a false sense of satisfaction, knowing it will cover your appliances if something goes wrong. In reality wont cover anything. I dont recommend this company and will cancel my plan soon.

I still didn’t receive my payment

the ability to choose my own technician is very important to me. I know by doing so I get the caliber of person that I always have dealt with for the maintenance of my equipment. They also are very prompt in paying me for the monies I spend to have the repair done. I would recommend AFC to anyone looking for a Home Warranty Company!

Great home warrant for service and coverage.

I was originally with American Home Shield and was talked into Joining AFC but everything they sold me on was a lie. I submitted 3 claims, none of which were addressed. The first was a pool heater claim that they did not address because they said they couldn't find a contractor to come out. I find this reason absurd. I live in the DC area and there are plenty of contractors. I had one out in 2 days after handling this myself. The other 2 were for a faucet and a refridgerator. In both cases, the found a reason to deny the claims and never even bothered to send anyone out. I have a rental property and was American Home Shield for 13 years so I know what should be covered. This company is a scam. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
